happy about balance patch

Since it means the first real balance after pof-release is like 5 months later we maybe should expect a full traitline rework like it was done when the 'old traitline system' with 75 pts getting replaced by the 'pick 3 full traitlines with new designed traits'. I think it was about same time that was invested in that change. We'll see if they achieve same results in quantity of changes.

Something really bad is going on with the "balance team". Probably huge lack of resources. They should get the "Mike treatment" ASAP, same treatment that got PVE in the right direction after the clunky HOT release. With POF we have the same situation but only with PVP(& WVW), several of the new "specialisations" are not in a competitive state, underdeveloped/unpolished/not balanced. Treatment to core classes issues is not being addressed and being covered by "cover-ups" fixes. They talk about wanting to push more balance patches while considering the last patch with small number of bug fixes, a "balance patch"?

Raids & living world is great, but GW2 biggest selling point is class design & combat system. Go back to your roots.

Hey we want balance asap, give us one patch every 5s so we can complain about the patch not meeting our expectations.

Has it ever crossed anyones mind that balancing a game is a long process, and that small changes can have a huge impact on the game?

We know they're working on a patch, we've been told so several times, there's no need in complaining about the abscence of a patch every 2 days. They will release a balance patch and people will still complain about it, doesn't matter if they do it now or next week or whenever. I personally prefer it if they think about their balance changes instead of just making rash decisions and "fixing" everything that is beeing complained about on the forum.

If they'd balance for people on the forum they'd have deleted 80% of all Skills and would've given thiefs perma stealth and +900% Backstab damage with special soundeffects by now.

Seriously, you guys are just waiting for a new reason to come to the forum and complain, when was the last time you logged into GW2 just to have some fun and enjoy the game?

Modern development practices target <= 1 day turnaround of deployments from dev branch through to live. The ONLY way you can effectively balance is by tiny daily increments so you can monitor changes in realtime (say 0.1% change to a skill per day). The balancing process for GW2 is obviously not fit for purpose, hence the complaints.

Defending mediocrity pushes nothing.

If you don't want to play GW2 why complain on the forum? No balance patch will ever fundamentally change the game, if you don't enjoy the game right now, you won't enjoy it after a balance patch either.

And @"vesica tempestas.1563"

I agree that more frequent small adjustments would be better but clearly they do not have the ressources to do that, so what they do right now is the next best thing.

Fooo, Quaggan disagrees.

Overnerfing Scrooge and Mirage to their extinction in competitive could deal with most issues.

its a false economy , ultimately fast releases are much cheaper than large changes that sit for months and have to be tested together. Maybe they are working on their dev ops to weed out the blocking factors so they can streamline deployments, but the signs are not there at present.

This is bullshit. Anet has not delivered a major balance patch since PoF release. Based on their previous statements (and the trend through HoT) that they are supposed to deliver a balance update quarterly, and the mid season balance update (which was minuscule) was not supposed to interrupt the quarterly balance update. I was expecting major balance update in Oct 2017. We are in mid Jan 2018 and not only there is no delivery on the devs part, there is not even a time commitment.

Devs get 0/10 and the community should be in arms to let the Anet know they kittened-up.

Btw, Anet just closed the thread for balance update delay with 154 posts [https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/24679/season-starts-16th-so-when-balance-patch#latest](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/24679/season-starts-16th-so-when-balance-patch#latest "https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/24679/season-starts-16th-so-when-balance-patch#latest"). Apparently they think forum Nazi is going to make complaints go away. It does not. It only antagonizes the posters.

Anet how about you reply and tell us what date will you deliver the class balance changes instead?! We know that you will not deliver today. At least commit to a date to indicate some level of care and accountability.

I actually don't mind, complain all you want about 1v1 matchups but in terms of conquest it's one of the more healthy metas. I'm more glad we got stuck with this compared to 3 bruisers and bunkers on point who never die. I would have loved some condi nerfs but oh well, here we are...

We really should have some clarity of what is going on, this silence only serves to irk the community.

What are they thinking? If I don't touch it, it will fix itself? PvP is filled with zerging scourge and mirage. There is no other way to play against these but Vanilla guardian with meditations or bunker. Which results to no dps team.

We've been waiting nearly a month to for a new season and nothing changes? Is this for real?
