  1. We do not have any city type maps, with combat. The closest was LWS4 episode 1, but the city part felt too small.
  2. Either LWS3 or LWS4. I personally prefer LWS3. Also better for farming than LWS4.
  3. > @"Providence.7185" said: > > @"Buran.3796" said: > > My advice would be to go with Renegade. The Renegade can fight both at range or mele, using either power or condition stats, staying in short bow 90% of the time, and kill well both single targets and small packs of enemies. The powe Herald is pure mele and albeit very competent at single target damage, loses a lot of efficiency when has to tag multiple foes at the same time. The condition Herald is mele/short range AoE, much better against small packs, but a bit slower vs single targets. To me soloing hero points/bosses with power Herald is faster but more risky, with condi Herald a bit slower but way tankier. Herald has the quality of life of having perma-swiftness (Facet of Elements) without relying in traits or runes, but Renegade has the quality of life of being able to kill everything below champs without even being touched (short bow). > > > > > > Thanks. Would you suggest power or condi Renegade? Any suggestions for inexpensive starter gear while I build up the gold account? Power gear is far more accessible. You can buy it cheap from the market. Condi on the other hand requires specific farming. Viper requires farming Heart of Thorns maps. I would go the power/herald route first. Herald is so so survivable, that it can take you through most of what you need. Generally speaking, renegade has more versatility, and much better condi. I would still recommend herald first, but if you can only play one, then renegade.

True Shot still hits for 5k on Marauder fairly easily and Test of Faith co-efficient were never changed therefor still hit hard. > > Maybe start trying. TS even pre nerfs did not hit for 5k. It used to hit critic 4-4.5k range. Now 3.5-4k on critic with 2 secs more CD. The fact that you managed to hit a target with 25 stacks of vulnerability, does not make a standard. How about DS that used to deal 3.5-4K that now deal zero? Assuming you can even manage a hit with 0.75 sec cast time. How about removing the initial damage of ToF, which was the most important damage part of the skill? There is not a single power guardian build above C tier. And power DH is currently trash with LB. you are better off with GS and sword. Yes, bugs should be fixed, but is that all the spvp balance can do now?!

It's so compelling that several would-be returning players have come to the forums asking "why has my favorite build been obliterated from existance"? only to resolve not to touch the game mode again. > > Balance is so good that we've embraced burn dh as a necessary evil just so people can actually die. All we've done is identify problematic aspects of PvP and delete/smiter's boon them out of existance. That isn't fixing problems. It's sweeping them under the rug. > > And then we sit here with the pile of garbage growing ever bigger and pretend that everything is fine. > > Ahem-- pardon me I broke script there for a second... > > Trapper ranger is unhealthy for the game. Pls nerf, ect. ect. The fact that a predominantly power elite, plays condi using a gimmicky rune, is the best build for guardian says it all about how fucking dysfunctional spvp has devolved.

The whole system needs to be readjusted to the equivalent of infamous Feb 2020 balance patch. And the sentiment that damage is too low and the game is bunker haven is widely shared. Keep in mind, most players who think the current spvp is garbage stopped playing and mostly posting. You are in the echo chamber of whoever is left. And even among this group, many think the balance is fucked up. And regardless, you cannot balance a game by continuously nerfing and/or removing things. For the same reason you cannot balance a game by continuously buffing and/or adding things. This is why it is called “balance.”

Unengaging, unfun and cheesy builds that, together with any other stale based builds, should simply not be a viable way to play the game Add CC spam and that is spvp since last year February patch.
  8. I just realised this is from Dec. It is sad that it is still as relevant nearly 3 month later...
  9. > @"ollbirtan.2915" said: > Yeah, everything is fixed. All problem removed. A couple of my great "patches" like this, and there won't be anything left at all but sticks and rags,. I think we are close now! It is apparent the current sPvP devs revile violence and would prefer we solve our disputes in sPvP peacefully.
  10. Beside pvp, I would not call CC prevalent. It exists, but hardly an issue. > @"Cromx.3941" said: > Yep this game chases away tons of new comers because of the abusive CC mechanics and ridiculous amount of one shotting that goes on. There is way too much damage going back and forth between mobs and players and it completely destroys the entire defensive side of the equation, which dumbs down the game dramatically. The only thing that really matters is active defenses and dodging. Which comes off as gimicky. Either you get with it and stack only offensive stats and try to burn enemies to the ground before they do this stuff or you find another game. Its a huge problem with this game. All of this stuff makes the game very shallow and eliminates most stat combinations and many build configurations as a result. A lot of wasted time ands effort went into designing things that will never be used. I am not aware of any ARPG, RPG or MMO where you do not go full dps (unless you are playing a healer or a tank). The mobs the deal the least amount of damage are dead ones. Farming efficiency favours high kill speed. In addition, on rare occasion if there is a timer, you need damage to beat it. It is not a GW2 specific issue. And honestly, if the game becomes hard enough that running full dps is not viable, I doubt majority of players would even be able to play the game.
  11. > @"Sindrela.1846" said: > so i just hit 80 and have a bunch of hero points ready, but which is better for pve, mostly solo or duo > > tried doing search but this forum mostly says class is bad lol Depending on your interest. I would recommend condi mirage for open world over chrono. Chrono surely works, but mirage have a larger bandwidth of things you can do. Raids, they are about equal. Fractals favour high damage so chrono. Chrono has support build, while mirage does not. Personal opinion, mirage plays and runs way more smoothly than chrono.
  12. What I would like to see: For each class make all weapons available in OW without requiring their respective elites. New utilities available to core, especially elites.
  13. The 2020 Feb patch had even major fundamental issues. The game pacing. Risk and reward. AOE spam. CC spam. Constant removal of options. This is what happens when you throw away 7 years of tuning and think you know better, then lack the resources and competence necessary to fix the issues you created. Spvp is a lost cause.
  14. @"Bastrii.3047" Ya, LB is not great. As guardian main, DH is primarily a damage modified over core. You will still use GS mostly. Many weapons in GW2 are pure garbage in pve. IMO best ranged bow option for open world is Short bow renegade.
  15. > @"Brokensunday.4098" said: > > @"otto.5684" said: > > Have been out of the spvp for a while. Is guardian even viable nowadays? FB was extremely strong solo pre Feb patch. Now it is garbage. Burn guardian is not a solo build, core or DH. It can do well against melee enemies, especially without good access to cleanse. But loses to any competent range and cleanse. DH trapper, power or condi cannot solo kill anything with 2 brain cells. Symbolist is probably the strongest solo, but I have better things to do beside dancing on a point for 5 minutes. And there are better builds that can do that. > > Power guard is gold tier, burn core is gold tier same as dh fb is non existant and core heals is plat 1 but is good for tourney and not good to solo queue. That is what I thought. People still complain about condo trapper DH: garbage build that only thing it does is troll poor g2 and lower rating players.
  16. Have been out of the spvp for a while. Is guardian even viable nowadays? FB was extremely strong solo pre Feb patch. Now it is garbage. Burn guardian is not a solo build, core or DH. 17. If it gives stability, then it is an auto stun break. You cannot be CCed while having stability. I much rather the trait removed all together. It has been useless for a very long time. Ever since it crossed the 45 sec CD.
  18. > @"Loboling.5293" said: > I'll be honest, I think the Meta is better than it was a year ago. I'm enjoying PvP a lot more than I expected. At least in G3/P1, you can play dozens of different builds, which is keeping me playing for the first time in almost 6 months. > > I can understand compared to 2015, how it might be worse, but it's still not as bad as it was in 2020/2019... You could always play any synergistic build in P1. And people with experience gobble up gold like candy. Nothing in the respect has ever changed at any point in the game, regardless of balance and meta. And balance discussion is only meaningful around equally skilled players. What changed, is the game is now more targeted towards AoE and CC spam. Trying to burst someone down now, is a futile effort. Just chain lock them. And with TTK going up, the game is far more forgiving of mistakes. It is basically a slug fest. And I get it, some people prefer that over fast action. But the earlier is typically designed a trinity system. When classes are self sufficient, high damage is a necessity so the game does not stale.
  19. As we stand today, rev is relatively better than ranger in most context. For pve ranger has edge in burst with GS.
  20. > @"snoow.1694" said: > Idea is simple, too many unskilled players are confusing Anet by constantly crying about stuff, that actually isn‘t strong. I feel like taking part in balancing issues should only be allowed at a certain skill level, meaning if you reached Plat 1 to Legendary in your last season. Letting people in lower divisions take part in such important decisions will just further ruin the quality of the meta, because most of them don‘t know what they are actually talking about First, this will never happen in public forums. The price of entry is buying the game. Once you do, there are no additional requirements. Second, you do realize this will be a very limited group? I know that many players like to throw around: “anyone can reach P1,” which is true assuming: you key bind all your spells, played few hundred games, understand how all classes operate, understand various maps flow and strategies and can effectively improvise. Basically, around 10% of all active spvp players. Third, how would you determine P1? Anyone reached P1? Stayed in P1 for few games? Finished the season in P1? What if it was not last season, but the one before it? Should we take in consideration all games the person ever played? If not, how far back should we go? Any line you draw here will be absolutely arbitrary. Last, being in P1 does not mean you understand balance well. Heck, you could be in legendary and not understand balance well. Not to mention bias. There is a reason why sports players do not set the sports rules. There is a reason no game does this.
  21. > @"Lonami.2987" said: > I think it should be this way: > > * **High:** Necromancer, Engineer, Warrior. > * **Medium:** Elementalist, Ranger, Guardian. > * **Low:** Mesmer, Thief, Revenant. > > For reference, here is the current setup: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Health I think the low HP pool should be eliminated entirely. Though, this needs work. And Anet devs are lazy. We did not have a balance patch for.... 6 month? I do not agree with Mesmer and reverent low HP pool. As for large HP pool for medium class, both engi and ranger have good sustain.
  22. It is a useless weapon. Bad damage, bad CC, slow and predictable.
  23. Statement from the balance team? Lmao. I will give it you the summary: the new guy does not know what the fuck he is doing. Instead of trying to see what each class and build needs just did a blanket nerf across the board. Anet pulled all resources to work on the expansion, so no one has the time (and quite frankly, the knowledge) to make proper adjustments. Short version, do not play pvp.
  24. > @"TheQuickFox.3826" said: > I disagree. A year ago everything was overpowered. The overall nerfing has been a good thing. I'm not getting one-shot anymore in sPvP. You cannot say everything is OP. If everything is OP, nothing is. What you want to say is that you prefer higher TTK. And the issue is not the game play now requires lower skill level. It now defaults to AOE and CC spam.
