[Question] Best way to get agony resistance for fractals?

Recommended Posts

Get Ascended accessories from the Living World areas. It will give you a total of 7 infusion slots (after you Infuse the rings in the Mystic Toilet) before taking weapons and armour into account (which are indeed more annoying to get).

Even if you “merely” fill those 7 slots with 5 AR infusions that’s still a very solid foundation to get you started.

You can start fractals with 0 agony resistance and 0 ascended gear, and build your character up gradually. I recommend this because the fractals themselves are a good source of gold and a great source of +1 agony infusions that you can upgrade to larger sizes.

Plain agony resistance infusions are not too expensive; about 3200 +1s and 47 gold worth of reagents or fees, to hit 150 AR using a combination of +9s, +8s, and +7s.

There is another kind of AR infusion that also gives a little bit of a given stat (+5 per infusion regardless of AR size, for a total of 90 if you use all 18 possible infusion slots) for a HUGE increase in price; about 1100 gold. This is strictly something to waste gold on if you've run out of other goals.

The expensive part, when you're starting out, is not AR but the ascended gear to put it in.

Start with ascended rings, accessories, and backpack; they're all easy to get for various tokens. You can add 1 more slot to the backpack and 2 more to each ring. (Asc amulets are also easy to get but have no infusion slot.) Then go for weapons, then last of all armor. If collections aren't your thing you can craft, and if you're doing a lot of fractals you can craft cheaper gear using grandmaster marks.

More importantly, it's a good idea to do normal fractal progression in order to get to know the different fractals and learn what to do where.

You can at least get asc trinkets .. that should give you enough ar to progress the fractal level of your character .. try to aim towards fractal daily completion bcos the reward drop asc armours and weapon quite often.

I hv done up a quick calc of ar infusion before and will dig it out later for you ^.^

6 slots for armor, 2 slots on weapon, 6 slots for rings (must upgrade the rings to 6 slots because it is very very cheap and easy to do so), 2 slots for backpiece (or 1 slot only if it is not upgraded), 2 slots for accessories = 6+2+6+2+2or1 =18 or 17 agony infusion slots.

In Summary

6 x 9AR = 54AR (armor slots)

6 x 9AR = 54AR (rings slots there are videos in youtube showing how to make ring into 6 inf slots)

2 x (8AR into 2 x 7AR) = 14AR (use 7AR on weapons so it is cheaper to swap diff weapons for diff encounter)

2 x 9AR = 18AR (Accessories slots)

1x 10AR =10AR (backpiece slot or lower if your backpiece has two infusion slots)

You can buy AR directly off TP. If you are doing fractal daily.. you can also purchase +9 AR from INFUZ-5959 for 3+gold instead with the +1AR you hv collected overtime.

The cost of combining them as an artificer is exactly the same as "combining" them via the INFUZ golem vendor. The only difference is that INFUZ offers only some +AR values (the more popular ones), while artificer can craft any.

Yes if u hv stacks of +1 .. just trade to INFUZ npc for + 9 etc.. same cost to craft and it's only one click.

INFUZ only has odd-numbered infusions. Artificing can make both odd and even. In this way artificing can be a bit cheaper way to reach 150 because you can use +9s, +8s, and +7s instead of just +9s and +7s. But yeah it's a minor savings.
