moodypooty.2075 Posted February 20, 2018 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Okay so I just got a new laptop and im trying to download the game again. every time the installer comes up it says I must have administrator privileges in order to download it. I checked on my account information and of course it says I am an administrator because I'm the only user on the laptop. I'm not sure what to do, I have disabled my avast antivirus and that didn't do anything. any help would be appreciated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Healix.5819 Posted February 21, 2018 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Administrator privileges have to be requested. Right click the program and choose to run it as an administrator. GW2 installs to Program Files by default, which is a protected directory, hence the administrative requirement. Alternatively, you can rename Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and place it wherever you want, like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe, then it'll install to its current folder.
