xiiliea.9356
I might be getting a new PC so I'm considering the parts, and I'm wondering what affects object loading speed? When my computer is on heavy load (eg. copying files) stuff like ground texture and map props load really slowly. What PC component affects the loading speed of these? CPU/Graphics Card/Hard Disk/RAM?
Steve The Cynic.3217
Disk. The objects / scenery / etc. for the new map have to be loaded from disk, so for that aspect of things you want faster disks. Memory (both main memory and graphics card memory) should be fast as well to help the GPU move stuff around quickly. The GPU's frame-rate ability won't *directly* affect load times, except that a card with a high frame rate ability will ALSO have other components (notably memory) that are fast as well. Oh, and minimise random stuff running in the background, stealing cycles from GW2.
