How to adjust the fans

the game actually started putting quite a load on the GPU since PoF, was barely using any on my 980Ti

While that may be the case, it still won't solve the problem if the OP has no clue how to navigate their software in order to adjust the GPU fan speed.

The side of the case is what I meant, they come on and off very easy.

I'm worried if I remove it. I won't be able to put it back in.

You should get a professional to help you verify the PC is working correctly. You had established, reasonably enough, that this isn't a skill you possess, so find someone to help you who does, or pay someone to do it.
