Sorry to say that, but I just detest the new forum appearance and organization, a real mess, what's this hell?! I largely prefer the ancient one, don't have to surf during 1hour to find something: Categories and giant page with a list of topics in function of last replied was awesome... Also hate this timer which logout you for innactivy, nobody have the right to log me out, I log in when I want and log out when I want. It's not because a player is innactive, that he don't read a long post, thinking how to formulate his sentences or have a reflexion! I am just sad and very dissapointed, this new looks burn my eyes! :'( :anguished:

Base guardian? The dude underneat the chonomancer is a dragonhunter, is he not?

On the subject of forum avatars, I don't know if it's been mentioned and I wouldn't be surprised if it was...

Would it be possible to have in-game renders of our character's, most likely, faces? The whole character would probably be too small, but there's nothing more unique than one of your own characters to represent you.

there's an avatar for the vanilla guardian too. I wasn't sure if I want to represend the DH or the guardian on the forum :)

I'm enjoying this sprucing up and upgrading of the forums. I never found the GW2 forums particularly nice to look at or well set up; these ones are nicer to navigate and it's nice to see at least _some_ ability to customise profiles now with an avatar. Reactions will be interesting, though rarely are they ever used in an agreeable manner wherever you go, and it's nice to see the forum notifying you of drafts being saved I suppose.

Pretty nice, overall.

Fair enough - I probably should have guessed that that current dev tracker page was an RSS feed already. But the problem is that that RSS feed links to the whole thread instead of specific dev post, and sorts by most recent post rather than most recent **dev** post. Any chance of getting an RSS to something more like the "Latest Arenanet Posts" marquee thing on the forum homepage?

While I'm happy the new forum has a better search function, I really don't care for most everything else. The amount of vertical space used by things other than the actual post content is way too much. It actually gives me a headache looking at it.

I'm not fond of features like signatures and editing being locked if you don't have enough up votes, but since I can't stand looking at the new forums it really doesn't matter anyway.

I don't understand what your link showed. Or maybe it's just me/my computer. Just a lot of notepad type text with what I assume are comments from posters on the forums and programming stuff? I thought the link provided might send me to a place to set up RSS feeds, but.... :/

The existing dev tracker link and RSS feed aren't particularly useful though as they stand. The RSS feed shows and links to the first comment of the thread, not the actual dev post. I can't quite work out how the https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussions/tagged/arenanet page is ordered, but the first link is to the Raid thread, which had 1 comment from Crystal right at the start of the thread, but now continues to hang around at the top. There's no way to tell whether any more Dev comments have been added without going into the thread and having a look. The old dev tracker was fantastic, because you could JUST see the dev comments, ordered by latest first, and not have to wade through the threads themselves trying to hunt down the latest comments. (Also, the Dev Tracker link is not displayed on mobile devices.)

You need a program that can interpret the code, I personally use RSS Feed Reader:

Huh. I never needed a 'reader' when I have used RSS feature/options before. Thanks for the info.

An RSS feed basically just a URL you can hit to get XML data dump of current data from a site. It's meant to then be parsed and styled/formatted by the site/program that requested it. So if you saw an RSS feed on a website, chances are it was the styled output from an RSS feed. For example, [here](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussions/tagged/arenanet "https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussions/tagged/arenanet") is where Arenanet is displaying the feed John Olson linked. Since it is an RSS feed, hopefully that means it's easily configurable what data is in it/how it's sorted.

Not talking about avatars. [Talking about the six blokes to the side.](https://imgur.com/a/nFcqe)

Base Guardian is the asura on the bottom left. It's even used for the official [Guardian wallpaper](https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/wallpapers/GW2_GuardianWallpaper01-1280x960.jpg)

The current forum Dev Tracker is a useless PoS. Sorry. It only tracks THREADS ANet has posted in. The top threads are the ones a PLAYER most currently posted in, WITH, somewhere in the 45 pages, an ANet post. When I look for a Dev Tracker, I want to see stuff that ANet has posted in. When I click the thread, I want an ANET post, not a player quoting an ANet post, not 3 pages of only player comments, because I already read the ANet post.

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but the new dev tracker is much worse than the old one. Make it a simple list of dev posts again please, that way if we want context, we can click on the thread title and read the entire thing. Right now I don't even see how to make it jump straight to the dev post, and it sorts by most recent OVERALL post, making it even less helpful if you want to catch up.

I'd have to agree with a few who've said allow us our own "game related" avatars.Being an artist myself I'd love to be able to show off my art in the avatar form.I can't wait to be able to create some signatures when unlocked. Of course have the ability to use your own avatar through the same means, by earning it throughout the community by your deeds and activity.

Probably already posted or recommended but I really think some of these features would enhance the forum:

* Order or sort of columns. e.g. sort by post date, number of replies, etc.

* These pop of draft being saved every 5 mins is intrusive

* Sort by "Thumbs Up" or have it highlighted or quoted to the side

* Option for traditional posts templates: image/name on the left side and messages/text on the right (minimize options on the bottom like report, quote, etc. to simply be buttons or at least more minimalist and thumbs up should be == to helpful (less clicks) more posts per page
