Asura raptor -- Golem Charr rapter -- charr car Human griffon -- wyvern Norn griffon -- snow owl jackal -- kveldvulf Sylvari jackal -- fern hound Of course there are numerous other examples you could use, but these are just a few examples. If it were a whole series, then it would be a Cubic golem in different shape configurations. But the real question is which race would have the best idea for a Skimmer?
