Healing/Support firebrand viability?

Just from looking at cooldowns and the mechanics of firebrand I can tell it will never be meta in this spot as it stands now. However, I've made healing guardian work in fractals/raids before so I was wondering would this be better and what are the gear choices in your opinion? Seraph, Magi, Minstrel etc? thanks in advance!

I wonder if runes of Water and the trait Protector's Impact work with the mantra, but if yes it could be a really good support and heal in fractals.

Mantra of solace = Heal (#6 runes) +aegis( will give heal)+ Symbol of Protection (will give heal and prot) ; and the F3 will heal too.

The new Gear Marshall could be ok; given that Precision won't be really useful in the Seraph gear.

Yes, both work. The Prot symbol CD is way longer than the 8s tooltip though. I think it is more like 30s.
