Skins of Gathering tools are missing......

Recommended Posts

I bought "Molten Alliance Mining Pick" and "Fused Molten Logging Axe" on 10/21/2015.

But I can't find them in "Hero>Equipment>Wardrobe" Page.

I submit a ticket 10 days ago but I still do not get any reply.

~~Why?~~

~~I love this game, But how could support team do that to me?~~

The history is limited, I apologize to GW2 team.

I AFK for 3 years.

In my memory, the gathering tools are not account bound.

There were some bugs (maybe) in my member that the skins were not unlocked.

I've checked all bags of every character and account bank.

I still can't find them......other tools are fine.

I find your accusation suspect, but at any rate I had a somewhat similar issue. Your tools are probably on an alt character. Go through all your characters until you find the tools you bought and then pretend you're going to change their skin.

Back out of it and it'll have added the skin to your wardrobe. Just a quirk of the system. Assuming you didn't delete them or Anet decided they hate you for no reason in particular (not likely).

If you have a metric ton of alt characters you might consider searching your account with something like gw2efficiency. Just type "molten" and they should pop up wherever they are on your account.

You will need to set up an account on gw2efficiency and an API through the official site for it to use.

If you've never used gw2efficiency, you're not savvy to such things, and you don't have too many characters, might be best to just manually go through them.

Alternatively (or else in addition too) since this was so long ago, not only might your tools be on a alt somewhere on your account, they may also be soulbound.

You'll need to take the soulbound tools to a Black Lion Weapons Specialist (not the ones in the LA Black Lion Vaults) and have the tool unequipped and in your inventory to exchange for an account bound version of the tool.

Once that's done, then go about the process I mentioned prior to get it added to your wardrobe. It's convoluted but such is the way of a changing system over the years.

Think that about covers it. Good luck.

It looks like more your history got culled and not deleted. There's probably a limit to how many items can be in history.

Skins the wardrobe are not 100% Automatic. First the character that has them must be used after the path. Otherwise the game does not look at them. You need to log into every character anytime they make something character bound account bound. (This is how it was for original wardrobe patch, wallet patch, account recipe patch).

Second do you still have the tools? Wardrobe only affects items you currently have. If you deleted them it will not unlock them. At that point your going to need to submit a ticket to get them back.

Welcome back :)

> In my memory, the gathering tools are not account bound

The original tools were soulbound. In [November 2012](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2012-11-15#General_3), they became account bound. Since yours were purchased on 2015, they should be _account_ bound (also the price of 1000 gems was for account bound ones; the soulbound ones were cheaper).

> There were some bugs (maybe) in my member that the skins were not unlocked

As described above, in 2015, there were no skins to unlock. If it didn't happen automatically, re-equip them so that the unlock can trigger.

While you're wait for support, use [GW2 Efficiency](https://gw2efficiency.com/user/api-keys) or [GW2 Timer](http://gw2timer.com/?page=Account&article=Audit) to search for `Molten Alliance Mining Pick`. You'll need an API key, which you can create [here](https://account.arena.net/applications).

It's an understandable confusion, since it's not clear from the history panel that there's a limit.

(The primary reason is: it helps game & gem shop performance.)

As @"Inculpatus cedo.9234" said, there's unfortunately a huge back log of tickets. 3-4 weesk in many cases. They **will** get back to you, and once they do, things get resolved quickly.

By the way: don't start another ticket; be patient for this one. If you discover new information, you can reply to the automated response with new details (e.g. that screenshot of your gem shop history).

In the meantime, try using those websites to see if they can help find the tools. I know that I've gone through all my characters looking for something, without being able to find it... only to realize, it was in an obvious place that I didn't think to check (or didn't notice); I haven't had that problem since I started using the sites.

(While these are 3rd party sites, they are safe to use; if you have concerns, please ask so your fellow players can address them.)

****

Good luck and please let us know what you find out from Support once they get back to you.
