Competitive PvE Reward Systems and Leaderboards

Hi guys, I know that competitive PvE leaderboards were done before when HoT first released. But I'd really love to see the efficacy of them in today's game recieve another review. Arguably there has been a LOT of changes since the HoT release when they were first trialled (especially regarding the previous limitations that leaderboards had), and after seeing the endgame pve reward systems of other MMO's and how they have been very effective, I'd really love to see similar weekly/monthly rewards and competitions implemented in GW2 as well for things like raids and CM fractals. It would be a very healthy distraction for guilds between releases, instead of the non stop drama we get now, it would be a real boon to twitch streamers and a really fantastic way to encourage a bit of controlled healthy competition in the game.
