Lurana.7506
Hi, I'm about to build a PC the first time. Because I mainly want to play gw2 on it, I want to be sure that it runs properly. I want to use Intel Core i5 6600 as CPU and Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Pheonix Golden Sample as GPU. I also want to buy a SanDisc SSD Plus 480 GB and G.Skill DIMM 16 GB DDR4-2133 RAM. Will this work well for gw2? I don't want to OC and would like to have high graphic settings with good fps rate. I know I can probably have better CPU etc. but I'm on a budget. So if you guys could help me I would much appreciate it! :) Maybe there are better options for the same price...? Thanks very much!
Gizmorage.6412
Yep, I have about the same and the game runs in ultra, only instances where fps might drop a bit would be world vs world blobs but that's for everyone. You should be absolutely gucci.
Lurana.7506
Thanks for your answer :) One more question: I considered buying a 16 GB RAM as mentioned above but will a 8 GB do it as well?
Lurana.7506
I'm not sure if the extra money spend on a 16gb RAM makes sense :/
Steve The Cynic.3217
If you can spare the money for *faster* memory (DDR4 with a bigger number after it), I would recommend doing so. Like most games, GW2 "spills" out of the CPU's cache, and therefore faster memory will improve overall performance. But don't bother if that's the fastest that's supported by the motherboard/CPU combination.

For chiefly gaming purposes I've noticed better performance with 16GB.

I will see what difference in price it would make to switch to a faster memory. Thanks for your answer :)
Lurana.7506
But maybe it would be better to choose a faster memory but with 8gb?
Yamazuki.6073
I would suggest an 8400 over a 6600. You get 2 more cores, and slightly higher boost clock and better single core performance for similar cost. The CPU itself costs less, but haven't checked motherboard price differences.
