Glorious Blue

My favorite color is actually black but I do enjoy blue and have some thoughts where said blue could go or how it can be obtained. First part. As I am playing an Engineer with a focus on tools/gadgets I love whipping out the flamethrower. Now, I have nothing against it but was wondering if possible if I could get the flame to be blue instead of red. Or any other color for those that may want have other preferences. Would be cool if possible. Next, I have bought the greatsword Cobalt for the skin. I love how, when you wield it, blue flame engulfs the blade. However, I was wondering if there are other weapon classes that have similar weapon effects as well. Not looking for the color of the blade itself but when you wield it it engulfs in a blue flame.

It can be. The closest that I like is the Foefire (ghostly I think) ones that are close. I do prefer flames but am not dead set on it. I just don't want the color to be bright...I prefer like a hard colorization over the lighter colors. For example, in dealing with red, I prefer scarlet over any other of the reds. For blue, it would be Zaffre...I can't remember how to spell it. A hard blue...not dark but a definite hue.

Since the BETA version of the game, there have been various requests for 'skins' for kits, turrets, minions, etc. Like a lot of things, the devs haven't offered too many comments except to note (indirectly) that it tends to take a lot of work to animate all the elements. It's not just (in this case) a static flame or 18 static images being alternated, there's all sorts of lighting effects and particle physics and so on. And unfortunately, it only has value to the subset of players who use specific profs, and the fraction of those using the relevant skills.

In other words, it's one big huge step for (kit) engineers, one tiny step for the MMO.

That doesn't mean it can't or won't happen, just that it's unlikely.

Mostly the best you can do is using specific weapon sets and infusions that offer some of the same sensibility you want from a blue-flamethrower.

* The [Corrupted Bulwark](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corrupted_Bulwark) and [blaster](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corrupted_Blaster)

* [Alchemist weapons](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Alchemist_weapon_skins) are purple-ish.

* [Glacial weapons](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glacial_weapon_skins) are 'icy'

Yeah...kind of figured that stuff like that is hard to program. But also kind of thought it would not be for the flamethrower alone. Rifles, pistols, etc. Kind of being able to add one's own flair a little more to you character. Will definitely look at the links. Thank you for them.

I've got two of them. One's more of a heals and the other is more of a whacker. The whacker is the one with Cobalt. Would love to put a blue flamed/hazed/whatever one handed sword and shield on my healer. Scepter has to work out somehow as well.
