AllNightPlayer.1286
How can I mark a text as **bold** and *italic* in Markdown? The tutorial says, I have to use 3 × `***` or 3 × `___`. But the text only apears as ***italic***, if clasped with three of them. If I use `*` and after some characters `**`, too, the text apears as bold italic >*Testing **bold italic** in a running text.* What am I doing wrong? Or is there something wrong with this forum? Nokomis.5076
if I use _ * * text * * _ then _**it works**_ if I use * * _ text _ * * then **_it works not_** strange
Healix.5819
There are cases where it won't parse correctly and thus not give you the expected result. In those situations, you can use standard html instead. For basic _italic_ and **bold** _**text**_, it needs to be that order. `_**example**_ or example`
AllNightPlayer.1286
Well, it seems to _**work out now**_. Many thanks. I probably always did it the other way—or used the same characters. But it is no a _typical_ Markdown, is it? Or why do I have to use **different** characters for _**bold italic**_?? ReActif.9251
The Markdown language suffers from a lack of standardization that effort has been made in recent years. After each site or tool the use adapts it sometimes to their use, with restrictions or limitations. This is the case on this forum where some parts of the code are a little different or absent
