METHODIUS.7023
As per title, if I wanted to send someone a gem store item that I know they really wanted, what would happen if he or she already had it, or if someone else happened to send that person the item and the gifted item is sitting in the mail or something? My extensive Google searching turned up nothing.

Inculpatus cedo.9234
Indeed, it just becomes an unneeded/unwanted item. The CS Team can not assist. It's best to check first with the recipient. Good luck.
METHODIUS.7023
Thanks, both of y'all. Too bad, kind of makes anonymous gifting about 20x more difficult.
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Perhaps, you could ask the person in a roundabout way? Something like what do you think of 'x'. They might state they really want it, or they are happy/unhappy with it. /shrug

Terter.4125
It's a good option to ask your friends API key. I did that once and lied the reason I needed his API key. Then you can go to gw2efficiency.com and check what your friend needs. ;)
