Rising Dusk.2408
This issue used to not matter a lot because nothing really interacted with Weakness, but now that we have the Weaver trait [superior Elements](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Elements) which relies on Weakness for a huge portion of their critical hit chance this has become a real problem. That's not to mention that we lose out on the soft CC that comes along with Weakness, which hurts some builds ability to handle breakbars. Hopefully this can be addressed with the next raid release! @"Jason Reynolds.4297"
thrag.9740
Never knew about this. So it is only w1/3? Last I heard, the raid team was split into 2 halves, with each half working on different raids. Perhaps the 1/3 team is using a different break bar? ArthurDent.9538
It is such a strange and pointless situation. Definitly should be changed as it is a completely artificial way to handicap weaver in certain situations.

That said, I'm not sure why this was ever a thing to be honest; hopefully they address it!
Zenith.7301
Mesmer's power block, a goddamn grandmaster trait not just some adept, has been obsolete since breakbars made their way into the game. I wouldn't expect changes in this case either.
Artemis Thuras.8795
I was using weaver on wing four at some point, found dps was off. checked crit rate, and was getting consistently around 85%. I'm wondering if, even though the bosses were getting weakness, it wasn't affecting the target for purposes of the trait. Has anyone else had similar results, or do I just need to double check weakness uptime, and/or double check uptime on the buffs.

Same with the warrior (now hammer) stun trait..... Kinda want these all changed to allow this to proc even in the case of breakbars.
IonoI.3956
There must be some really weird technical reason why this condition specifically had to be removed instead of just blacked out like the rest. I never though to check this until I saw someone mention it because that's not how break bars work
Zenith.7301
Breakbars were terrible anyways in further devaluing debuffs and worsening the strength disparity between debuffs and boons, which was already lopsided in favor of boons. Compare protection or resistance to weakness and they're just nowhere on the same order of utility. Now weakness, cripple, and chilled truly means nothing since hard CC is straight up better at depleting a breakbar anyways and some classes have that in spades. They should revamp the way debuffs work on mobs with a breakbar. The whole rationale for necromancer, core mesmer and core ranger to be scant on boons was that they had debuffing conditions. Conditions were supposed to be an alternate way of party support, and thanks to the defiance bar those debuffs have been rendered almost devoid of utility outside their minuscule contribution to the occasional breakbar moment in a fight. Fatalyz.7168
Could also be a buff for classes (Engi and Necro, iirc) that benefit from multiple condis on the target, a very small buff in the form of a little bit more crit chance (at least for necro). But definitely a buff for Weaver, albiet indirectly.

Yes, in the sense you no longer need to use Signet of Fire and Sigil of Accuracy. In terms of general applicability, it hardly changes anything. Weaver will remain a solid pick on VG, a very good one on Gorse, suboptimal on Sabetha (unless sword/focus grieving maybe?) and all-around good for W3. KC isn't even changed much, as you don't run Accuracy on him anyway.

KC isn't even changed much, as you don't run Accuracy on him anyway. Might as well just use condi Weaver on Sabetha. The danger of getting interrupted/delaying on your big DPS skills is far too high, which can be a significant DPS loss especially with the last phase, Sabetha's flamewall, or if you get sapper bomb. While this is fantastic news, any potential for removing perma reveal that prevents Stealth, or at least the stealth attacks for thief, particularly dagger back stab, being looked into for Raids? Not being able to use Deadeye at all due to no back stabs in many fights is a real downer.

In the next release there will be alterations to how Revealed is applied that will vary per encounter. There will no longer be a blanket Revealed in existing content (although we reserve the right to apply it however we want in the future depending on the encounter designs ;) )

There will no longer be a blanket Revealed in existing content (although we reserve the right to apply it however we want in the future depending on the encounter designs ;) ) OK but let's be honest, revealed isn't the reason why deadeye isn't allowed in raids, but it might be safe to say that it is possibly one of the only reasons power daredevil IS allowed in raids. If you're removing revealed is there any news on buffing daredevil to compensate? Also is there any news on actually making deadeye viable at all?
