You seem to know the game mechanics. That's not enough for this particular meta.

It absolutely requires a core group understanding the mechanics and communicating that to the non-core who do not.

If VB was as well-understood as TD or AB, it would go just as smoothly, as both those also require a core group. The difference is that TD|AB don't need as many in the core and they are less sensitive to the impact of less-experienced people showing up.

For example, AB/South absolutely requires people knowing which skills to use on the 'bomb' and the 'armors' knowing to keep the adds away. Zergs can make this harder. Fortunately, enough people have done AB that they can manage South in their sleep.

In contrast, that's not true of VB: there never was a VB multimap or chak infusion dropping, to attract people in droves.

Nothing has changed "these days" to make it less possible. The requirements are the same and player damage|sustainability is superior, due to PoF. The trick to this map has always been getting people to realize what's different.

What exactly do you think has changed in the last two years that makes this event more challenging to complete than it was 6 months after HoT launched (i.e. after the maps were updated based on player feedback).

Coordination is certainly useful; it's not "required."

> 2) It requires 2 or 3 ppl per camp, doing exactly what needs to be done in each camp. Do that, and nothing else. If there are more ppl around, it's a guaranteed fail because of scaling.

Or even 1, if the person knows what they are doing.

Yes, the tricky part is keep people spread out. It's not a "guaranteed fail" with more; it's just a lot harder.

The thing is: the very people who don't understand the event mechanics are the ones more likely to gravitate towards camps that already have people. That's why it's crucial to communicate ahead of time; that's why experienced people need to head towards the harder-to-reach areas.

> 3) If you don't get close to T3 before the bosses, then you will need to kill them all, not easy unless ppl are spread and, once again, there aren't too many scalating bosses up.

Sure, night boss scaling is also a non-zerg challenge.
