why are the effects of your AoE skills larger than their graphical representations??!!!

I'm assuming you're talking about fire grab?

 

The visual effects (vfx) of your skills scale off of your character's size for _certain_ skills. The tallest norns using the Engi's flamethrower kit will spray flames at greater lengths and widths than the shortest Asurans'. Likewise for Ele water dagger 2 Cone of Cold, Ele air dagger 1 Lightning Whip, and so on.

True, and by the way we are waiting for 5 years anet fix Firegrab hitbox :(

I use similar stats for my wvw ele but this makes me hopeful with sword :}

Sword actually still lack of DPS... Still dev will up it a bit. Just a bit. But it's needed.
