What happens with Heart of Thorns if I start Path of Fire?

Hello guys!

 

I recently bought the 2 expansions (haven't played GW2 for a long time), and I have started Heart of Thorn story (I'm on the 7th chapter).

I was thinking of doing the first part of Path of Fire, just to get the mount, and then return to Heart of Thorn.

Does that work or do I loose the rest of the story in Heart of Thornes if I do this?

You won't lose anything. You can switch between stories as often as you like. You could lose progress if you were in the middle of a Chapter; the game will notify you if that is the case.

Just keep in mind it is one continuous story. Jumping in to pof will be jumping to a story with no context and spoilers for what came before

I recommend doing both the PoF first mission, and HoT first mission, to unlock mounts and gliding, respectively, /before/ you play anything else, because masteries are fun, it will give you a taste of what's to come, and there's no context for the spoilers anyways.

 

Also, LS2, 3, and 4 take place inbetween the core game and expansions and are canon.
