People would quit, and slowly, GW2 would dry up, just like Wildstar.

A lot of it would become redundant, too. There are 5bsets of wings (?), and only 2 styles.

    > For the gem store one, I like that it is dyeable, I like the look, its a very nice cape. I personally believe it is 100 gems too much for a cosmetic item. I believe this about a lot of armor skins you put out. I certainly don't know how your in house game economists choose the gem price for items you put out, but if you had done a flat 400 I might also be inclined to purchase it and other skins. I mean if these were actual armor bits going 500 + on gems would make more sense but this is a totally cosmetic skin. The lowest amount of gems purchasable is 10 dollars . While I understand that your trying to encourage people to spend money so that you can create more content I think that your pricing is more self defeating in some ways.

    > I personally feel id be more likely to blow cash if I'm getting 2 skins for 800 . This is my opinion though.

    >

    > Onto the Guild cape, this is where the real disappointment steps in. First off I don't mind that I have to pay for it, I do mind that its a half cape and 10 gold and 10 commendations. This feels sorta like a gouge to me especially when all the other guild backpieces are 5 gold and 5 commendations. This really doesn't feel like a 10 gold and 10 commendation skin. Again if it was like the other offered guild back parts that carried stats that might change my mind....but ten gold for a half cape skin alongside 10 commendations?

    >

    > For those that are about to say that 10 gold isn't much your quite correct, 5 days of dailies or just doing general events would snag enough gold within a week to afford that part. Its the 10 commendations to somebody in a small guild that's really my clincher price wise. If you have a fairly active and large guild that will do guild missions once a week you might be able in 2 or 3 weeks depending get the 10 necessary. But what about small guilds or guilds that have lost people and can maybe only get 1 or 2 commendations a week depending on how lucky the guild mission list is? That's a pretty long time to invest in a skin with so many other shiny things to get.

Seems right in line with other backpacks with no glider.

    Pretty sure he meant bugged.

I love the timekeeper outfit. The new one is worth my saving to buy, and I like the defiant glass outfit enough to earn the gold to get it. I think they always end up looking just as they do when previewing them. I think it may be a lighting thing in the OPs case.

  6. I have set my camera off to the right, and zoom in until I can barely see my feet for most things. I'm always melee, so that works out well. When doing world events like metas, and bosses, I'll zoom out all the way so I can actually see. Even then, with smaller enemies (oversized player races and such) I'll have to zoom in to figure out where to stand, because it's always just a huge explosion of light, and it's very difficult to see which way they are facing. I like to see my actions, and it helps for watching enemy tells. If I do any PvP/WvW, I usually go about half way, maybe a bit more.

    > I get that it's not very active, however, there is a great amount of solo content (well, it is based on solo content, literally) that it is still worth bying it.

You aren't being penalized at all. You got all of that extra time, prior to when I would go F2P, to play the game. You aren't losing anything, and you will have gotten more out of the game than F2P players.

I own the game, and still jump on from time to time. I would like to have a larger community for when I actually do play. There is no need to keep milking a cow when its milk starts drying up. You may get a few drops, maybe even enough for an entire glass, but why not just let the cow relax for its final years of life?

  8. I am always doing events with other people, old maps and new, and we all know peak times by now. Knowing how many players are currently playing adds nothing to anyone's gameplay knowing those things. This is just something else to be used by FotM players to show "this game is dead." If you're having fun, and don't have to worry about finding people, it shouldn't matter.

I'm not quite to that point yet, lol, but I WAS happy when i saw the new armor skin cost some shards at the vendor. The blooming version obv.

With the setup I use, I rarely need to move my hand. My mounts are setup on the number pad, but the default chosen mount button is on ~. The rest are 1-4, Q,E,R,T,F,Z,X,C,shift+C,V,shift+V,G (interact) two extra mouse buttons, MMB, W,A,S,D for movement, and shift+MB5 for the action cam. It is the absolute laziest I could make, and what I use for all computer games. Some, like FF14 and WoW I just use both mouse buttons to move, and add in W to abilities.

That sounds pretty cool, but based on PoF, they aren't going to do anything that requires another expansion. Mounts and gliders are not needed to use the other. They could add it in season 5, but it wouldn't be a new expansion feature. New weapons would be great.

Since they mentioned adding to existing maps, I would like so see something that brings people back to dungeons.

Have you ever tried carrying a person on you back while running? Not super easy, but doable. Definitely not going to be going as far as normal. How about one around your waist? Much more difficult. Sitting on/near the wings of a bird would greatly hinder their ability to fly.

The way ANet has decided to implement mounts is the absolute best idea of any game I've played so far. Flying is not only not necessary, it would ruin things like map traversal, and jumping puzzles, by either making them far too easy, or creating no mount zones in way too many places.

  13. It's funny you mention space. I would like to see us go the the human gods' home world. They could even think of a way to have one of the dragon relocated there by the player, in order to imprison it without killing it. I don't know how that would affect Tyria, though. The dragon would still be alive, but it wouldn't be on Tyria, so it could cause the same problem we have if we killed it.

In any case, going to the human gods' home planet would be cool. The maps could be themed for each of the gods, or maybe a few gods per map, since there are so many, giving Grenth his own map for sure.

    > I am truly tired of all this negativity. There is no reason for Anet not to try to grow the twitch scene. Remember when Lazy Peon gave attention to this game? It was a pretty big deal and you had a decent amount of new players. Even something as small as black lion key giveaways could help grow the scene. It takes no effort to have giveaways like that, so not doing them is a serious waste.

There is a huge difference between reviewing a game, and doing pvp/wvw, and meta events/raiding. Call it negativity all you want, but these are reasons ANet wouldn't care enough about twitch to do anything about it.

This. The way it is now offers the most options. Don't take things away from others. People need to stop asking for the removal of things just because they dislike them.

One way of finding out if others feel the same as you is by explaining your situation, then asking if anyone else shares that opinion. The worst way to figure this out is by stating you don't like it, then saying it should be taken out.

They dont have higher stats, obviously. No need for the snide remarks. Even if you payed your way into ascended gear, you are forced to actually do some playing in order to craft them, unlike buying legendary gear outright. There is absolutely no way to get ascended gear without some amount of playing the game.

If you have ascended gear, you've done grinding. I'm not sure why you felt it relevant to add that in. MMOs, and single player RPGs all make you work for the best items. In P2W games, the gear bought isn't better than you can get ingame. This would be absolutely no different. Hit max level, use the card, have the best of everything.

Honestly, this discussion is moot. The gear will never be sold in the BLM, and you CAN go buy all the legendaries you want ("illegally") from a third party site.

The number of Skyscales hovering near the ground and stirring up dust and being otherwise obnoxious was ridiculous. If you moved away from one, there were more. It's only going to get worse as more people acquire the mount. Skyscale riders, please be courteous and if you must hover, do it high enough so you don't bother others. Thanks. (p.s. This isn't a "Wah, I'm so jealous" post, as I will get the Skyscale in a month or two and am not in a hurry.)

Everyone is acting like people are trying to be annoying. Most, if not all, of these players are hyped about their new mount, and excited to show off their hard work. They aren't aiming to be obnoxious, and it's a bit pretentious to just assume people doing thing you don't like are out to ruin your game. If other players playing the game brings you to the point of complaining on the internet, MMOs may not be the kind of games for you. These people are just trying to enjoy their game, don't think so negatively. A courtesy to them might be not complaining about every little thing.
