  1. Thank you! Going to see how it goes & hope for the best. Really been enjoying this game :)
  2. I feel as though I am between a rock & a hard place! Playing without my VPN on only allows me about an hour of playtime before the connection speed throttle which lasts until the next morning. I disabled my VPN & had an ISP tech come out to check my incoming signal, my modem, & my allotment speed. Everything was fine, although when I asked him why the connection goes so bad, he said that people who game & people who stream are their worst customers, & they probably "ruin" everyone's bandwidth when they log on. I did not say that I do that, lol, but the message came through loud & clear. I can pay for my internet, but I should never game or stream on it... Turned on the VPN & played for about 7 hours last night with no problem. I really wish I had more than one ISP provider for my address :(
  3. I started GW2 in the beta. I loved the core game, but never did get around to HOT (although I did pre-purchase HOT and POF). Things in life happened & I have recently come back to get all the mounts & play through the rest of my personal story, POF, LWS4, & all of the Icebrood Saga so far. After I finish the XP for my last Pact mastery track, I am finally off for HOT & LWS3. I loved POF, but have to say that mobs see me coming a mile away, & that means mobs, not only one or two! I have learned to fight them finally, but it is so relaxing to go back to some of the older areas & do achievements where I can sit & look at the view or my achievement panel without dying, lol. The Skyscale helps in the POF areas as I can hover high, but I have to be very careful where I take a break to read about my next conquest in the newer maps. I think the early game is just fine for new players (& for me when I just want to chill). There are plenty of too hard things to try even in the early maps to challenge ones' self in my opinion. I think it gives a good chance to learn the mechanics of the game & combat without the utter chaos of say some of the branded areas.
  4. I play solo much of the time as I have very bad vision & would hurt cutting edge groups (fractals etc). This game is spectacular in several ways though. -I can join an open world group, meta, boss fight without issue. I learn the open world group boss mechanics & I spend time learning my characters, so I can contribute to the group's success without feeling I hurt anyone's chances of success, -people in the world that I have met so far have been kind, helpful, & friendly. This makes me happy to be the same towards others. I always try to rez others & if I see someone having a tough time soloing something I will ask if they need help & join in :) -A few of the other games I have played in the past have made me feel useless because I cannot compete at "cutting edge" content. Here, I can explore to my heart's content, going slowly to savor the "new lands", new characters, and my amazing mounts! I do not feel useless here. I am allowed to enjoy my game time as I like. Anet never takes away my mounts "for reasons" for a year at a time each expansion... -It is so very much fun to gather in a big group & melt the big foes together...it just makes me happy to be part of it all. Currently I am doing the RIBA in Silverwastes every day to gain XP for my Central Tyria masteries. The commanders are kind & fun as are the fights as a group. Prior to RIBA, I was running the Drakkar meta in Bjora for currency for my Skyscale (along with gathering eternal ice by mining & chests), and running the meta in Dragonfall daily too. I feel so happy in these groups, not only because the other players are kind & fun, but because I am 64 & the Covid isolation has not been good, lol. Even if no one says much, I feel a part of something & that makes my day. I am sure there are people playing who are not as nice, but I have not encountered them personally. I am very happy to see & group with others in GW2. Groups are easy to join, and I find the game alot of fun. Thanks to all the great & friendly folks who play :)

Thanks :) > > Can't DM you yet (image gone in 2 weeks): > I thank you very much. I did find the glyphs on the TP this time. I can't DM you either but wanted you to know how kind you are for the information. Thank you :)

  7. Also (previously posted in the wrong part of the forums-so sorry) I would be so happy to be able to get the Branded Mount Skin for my new Skyscale. It seems that the branded skin for the Skyscale is only offered in the "Skyscale Ascended Mounts Pack" which appears to have only been available twice: August 2019, & January 2020. I bought the Branded mounts pack which unfortunately does not include the skins for either the Roller Beetle or the Skyscale. Please bring the Skyscale Branded Skin back as it has been over a year since it was available (from what I can find online- please correct me if I am incorrect about the last available date). Thank you:)
  8. I would love to be able to purchase stand alone glyphs for my gathering tools either from an in-game currency vendor or the TP. I have a set of "forever tools" with glyph slots & would be so very happy to be able to equip Volatile (or other) stand alone glyphs in them instead of buying the exhaustable stacks of gathering tools from currency vendors :)
  9. I had been following this post with interest as I also have some physical issues which limit my vision rather severely. When I started GW2 (in beta), & at release, I created as my main a Norn Ranger. I had alot of fun with the character, but left the game for awhile although I continued to buy the expansions & log in for the LWS episodes. I am actively enjoying GW2 again & have gotten all the mounts which are a blast to have, but after reading comments in the post "What is Your Opinion on the Icebrood Saga" page 2 about bearbow rangers, I am now worried about joining groups for metas & strikes. I have only done the strikes & DRMs as I had to to advance the story. No choice in that. I NEVER planned to try fractals or any "cutting edge" type of play as my vision would hurt the group. I had, however been having a wonderful time doing metas in Dragonfall, Bjora Marches, & other POF & LWS4 areas. The players are nice, the fights are fun, & I was just loving the game & the challenge. The comments were regarding the opinion that any time a player is doing sub-optimal damage it turns out to be a Ranger. Ranger is what is recommended for people who require an easier class to play like the OP & like myself. Necro with minions was also recommended, and while I did create a minion Necro after reading the Icebrood opinion posts, my ranger has so much map done that I want to finish the LWS3 & HOT stories on that character before I start over on the Necro. No one has made me feel embarassed to have joined any meta, & some amazing players have helped me cheerfully with some things I could not do alone due to vision issues (like the Skyscale collection Jumping Puzzle that was so very high up on tilted pillars I simply could not see well enough to get to the top.). Should I avoid metas & strikes & DRMs so as not to hinder others? Maybe there is a better build I could try on my Ranger. Currently I am using Longbow/Greatsword which has gotten me through all the LW, Personal, & expansion stories with minimal difficulty. I do not want to be THAT player that ruins the fun for someone else because I have trouble seeing. Sometimes, players who are not as good are not being lazy, but rather physically impaired in some way & doing the best they can :) Thank you for any advice. As a general rule, I have found other players in this game to be polite, kind, helpful, & alot of fun. Thank you for that as well!
  10. I first tried "quote", then I highlighted only the one sentence I wanted to quote & clicked "quote" & it still put the entire post in both ways. I am always open to more information & happy to learn!
  11. Thanks for the quote adding information. I did see that & tried it but it added the entire post to my post. I only wanted to quote Itsmez's one sentence. I must have done something wrong. It's all good. Thanks
  12. "Just get the griffon before skyscale and thank me later." Posted by Itsmez above! I do not know how to add a quote :) I completely agree. I got all the other mounts in order to get the Griffon. I got the Griffon for speedy map fun & to help with getting the Skyscale. There are lots of currencies to "gather" for the Skyscale & it takes a chunk of time to do that. While you get a borrowed Skyscale to do the Skyscale collections in Dragonfall, you do NOT get a borrowed Skyscale to do the many other requirements in other lands. My opinion is that the Griffon is very helpful in getting the Skyscale. I am finally almost finished with the currency stacks & my Skyscale has eaten 12 of it's feedings, & those currency stacks have gone much more quickly/easily with the use of all the other mounts including my Griffon. The sweet thing about mounts in this game is that they all excel in different areas. I love them all in their own right. The time & care we have to invest in each mount makes them feel like family to me.
  13. Thank you so much for the information! It looks like the Roller Beetle one is only a chance at Branded in the random one & a bit costly in the selective one. At least the Skyscale package (ascended) gives about 5 skins for 1600 gems. Good to know. Now to get that currency grind done for the Skyscale :)
