You do realize retaliation is doing only slightly over 1.7% of your health per hit right?

I've been legendary/plat since season 1 and haven't ended up silver/gold/ruby/bronze/sapphire/emerald even once, I should play the lottery.
-
Lol, the forbidden skills are all PvE skills in GW1.
There was no such thing as a forbidden skill in GW1 outside of those nonsense things like bearform etc.

lol good joke

Predator is the best looking weapon/legendary in the game to me, Rifle Gerd has been my dream since the start of GW2.
-
LB is the better open world weapon because damage doesn't matter, tagging/range does.
but open world shouldn't be a consideration for balance.
-
lol hammer guard is high skill?
its probably the easiest plat build to play outside of prenerfed scourge.

There's about a grand canyon's worth of difference between "learn positioning" and "get hit once and you die"

teach siege rams/catas/arrowcarts/mortars to dodge and I'll start taking your advice seriously
-
1 cast of meteor shower can down a superior catapult/ram
sieging has become completely pointless
running into choke points has become suicide simulator wars 2.
"but that one time a thief killed my zergling build while i was respawning so this is totally fine"
-
meteor has also made sieging/counter sieging an area where enemies are present completely pointless.
want to build siege rams? too bad, your rams and your rammer (through iron hide) dies in 2 hits.
want to build AC on ledges to stop catas? too bad your ACs die in 2 shots with you on it.
the only way now to siege something is to do it before anyone shows up.
-
3.2k armor FB with protection up, got hit by a 16k meteor shower and insta downed.
yea totally a l2p issue. /kappa
-
lol at complaining about needing to press the "dodge" button.
just about every single meta spec has an easy answer to deal with p/p DE if you aren't a bumbling noob whose first and only reaction when getting hit is "omg im getting hit, what do i do? i guess i'll stand here and keep getting hit, omg im dead"

> On a second glance I see that he didn't make top 10, he's currently rank 31 I think with about 1650 rating. So it looks like you're correct that it's not a top-performing build, personally I haven't been able to get above 1660 with the hammer build.
That's because the hammer build isn't a top tier build either.
It's good in ranked because its relatively simple and deals straight forward damage with not too many intricate mechanics involved, but it has a skill cap.
-
What focus 4 needed was an unblockable status and faster projectile speed, not this DoT thing that is basically just a recycled animation of the worst trap skill in the DH toolkit.
-
And Arken took Harriers FB to top 5, doesn't mean everyone should/could run it.
-
Its not that much better for core guard either
the additional damage is meh at best when you don't have retal, and you can't spare the virtue pops to use RoJ when you need to be saving it for the Hammer burst.
its one of those classic "looks good on paper/in theory but meh in practice" changes.
-
Neither weapons are meta in wvw/pvp, the meta build for power DH uses both GS and scepter.
-
I'd wait until they reveal the new scepter to see if its more thematic to what you want with a guardian.
-
I'm the opposite tbh.
Core guard had no problems dealing damage, the new RoJ is simply a winmoar button if u can tag a thief/mes, biggest problem with Meditrapper DH was the lack of sustained damage outside of the piddly LB burst/ToF push combo in melee. Sword/Foci should alleviate that a lot. DH also doesn't need the blind/condi cleanse as much as core guard does due to access to DH virtues.
-
don't have clip but it basically looks like the target is being pulsed with the light's judgment trap, aka the original GW1 ray of judgment beams (albeit smaller)

> I'm calling it right now. Renewed Focus now prevents condi damage. Focus is going to be good asf - and we MIGHT be able to run the focus CD trait now. Core Guard and DH got a strong buff
focus trait still ain't no where good enough to warrant using over smite condi trait.
-
Removing the blind from it is absolutely a gigantic nerf.
This change could have been a huge buff and functionality change that would have been embraced had it simply kept the blind
-
Shield of Wrath: Reduced the cooldown of this skill from 36 seconds to 35 seconds.

SWs are what they are, DPS buffs in PvE (or break bar damage, condi removal etc)
It'll never be buffed to the point of replacing consecrations/mantras/shouts/meditations in WvW/PvP without a complete functionality change that turn them stupidly OP.
