  1. Firebrand can go either way. Imo the best build for organized team play is just a full on support build. However, for carrying solo queue you can definitely do well with a more hybrid support. The Radiance tree gives you enough free offensive stats that you don't need to invest heavily into offense to be able to dish out respectable damage in a team fight. Just swap to more damaging weapons like A/Sh + Sc/F and change amulet to Mender's or something similar. From the sounds of it the hybrid build would be more up your alley.

  2. Yeah I generally roam with LB+Sw/Wh and rarely have trouble avoiding fights I don't want. I'm definitely not going to outrun a thief or a zerg that really wants to catch me but I generally feel I have enough mobility to avoid the fights I don't want to take. I also roam with Soulbeast rather than druid and make use of Gazelle F2 as much as I can for moving around in SB form. Also if a group is chasing you often times players (especially thieves) will blow too many CDs/initiative just to catch you, and then you can turn and make them pay for it before their group catches up to you.

I doubt new players with 0 ties to a game, bottom-of-the-barrel noobs, and bad players who lose a lot (thus don't enjoy their time in the game) are what games run on. Also, guild wars 2 is extremely easy to pick up and play and is widely regarded as _extremely_ casual. _That's how we got where we are now._

Pick a side! There is no room for neutrality in forums!

  4. There is something I am actually curious about but I'm not 100% sure if it applies to this discussion, as it is somewhat balance related in a roundabout way. When you guys release patches what is the testing process for you? What is the general process and timeline of internal testing before it is decided that a patch is ready to roll out? Is there any reason you don't use a public test server with the latest updates so the community can help you find bugs or unexpected effects of changes made?

I only ask because it seems that a lot of things slip through the cracks. As someone who works in software I know this is unavoidable. You won't catch everything, but I think extra community interaction could go a long way in helping you guys polish updates before they go live. I think this would cut back on a lot of the salt on the forums and it would give the community more of a feeling that they are participating in the betterment of the game.

    > > I am talking about dueling anywhere, everywhere ( i mean pve zones/HotM/cities). Example wow: you can right click a person and invite them to a duel. If they accept, you and your opponent become hostile to each other (other players obviously can't attack or support you) and duel ends when one of you got killed, ran out of duel area bounds (XY units from dueling point start) or typed /forfeit.

    > >

    > > Reasoning for it:

    > > - no need for dueling servers anymore -> no need for instances -> no issue with full dueling servers.

    > > - dueling is usually the first step into pvp. I have played many games in the past and it was always the same, people watch other duel, get interested and try it themselves. Then they get friends from dueling, get introduced to pvp and play matches together -> more players in pvp. The nice thing about it, you can do it to have some fun in main cities and for entertaining purposes as well as to kill time between matches.

    >

    > We talk about it every once in a while. Most of us aren't opposed to it. We'd have to do it in a way that doesn't become disruptive, so I don't think I'd want it enabled everywhere. It's also more work than people realize, so continually gets backlogged before we start thinking about it more seriously.

I would also really love to see dueling added, and I know that most of my friends would as well.

Maybe allow dueling anywhere outside of main cities and within designated areas inside cities.

The current options for dueling are very lacking. The Heart of the Mists area for dueling is a mess. With it being a free for all there is no way to get a real duel more often than not. Also it is very small and has a number of collision issues. The guild hall is good but mostly useless because of the limitation on who can enter.

  6. Yeah this season my most well balanced matches were my placements by far. Actually had almost all solid matches that could have gone either way. Placed in Plat 2 and almost every game since then has been a landslide one way or the other. Also surprising is I have only played about 15 games since placing and I have already seen 2 different bots in Plat, both scourges.

  7. Was wondering if anyone has any viable small scale roaming build for elementalist? I have recently started messing around with Ele more and I am having fun with it but I am struggling to find a build that works well for roaming. I have had some fun with gimmicky burst builds but I am looking for something more capable of dueling and 1vXing while maintaining an offensive nature. Anyone have anything that works well?

It's almost as OP as 5 man minion necro teams.

Riot also usually fixes major bugs like this within a few hours, as opposed to a few months for A-Net.

Good thing is if they nerf something i wont miss it because i havent even try soulbeast much lol. Will log in soon to try soulbeast and all the new things, hope is good.

    > Good thing is Soulbeast can't really get any worse than it is right now (pls no anet)

Great now they will probably just nerf sic em and pet revive on merge and call it a day.

  11. FB is definitely my pick for open world gameplay. The speed at which you can melt huge piles of mobs is amazing. Elites and champs go down pretty easily as well. Just make sure to drop out of ToJ before everything dies so you get the tome reset. If you do that then you can just move through melting everything with basically no downtime.

    >

    > Even in a specific context, it's still bad PR and terrible phrasing, and heads should still be rolling. They shouldn't be presuming to know any of their customers expectations and then subsequently dismissing them, ever, period.

    >

    > Even in the lightest of circumstances where somebody meant to say "misconceptions" and/or "miscommunications" instead of the wording they chose, it's still a mistake that gives them a patronizing tone and heads should still be rolling because you don't patronize your customers.

    >

    > It doesn't matter in what way we all as individuals react to it; it's inexcusable and falls below an acceptable business standard of communication with a customer base.

It is open ended but I just viewed the entire post to be related to the release date of the patch, without any reference to included content. Either way I agree it is bad phrasing...I just think that people are being overly critical of it I guess. They don't exactly have a large team from my understanding so I assume they don't pass everything through PR to make sure their community interactions can't be misinterpreted. Hopefully they are more careful with their choice of words going forward.

  13. I would agree if the "unfounded expectations" was in reference to the content being delivered...but as I understand it they were just talking about the release date. I don't see that being as big an issue as people are making it out to be. They aren't telling you that you can't expect them to deliver content they are saying don't expect it to be out this week.

Whether or not they will deliver a decent quality balance patch is of course questionable but not relevant to the point here.

  14. I never played warrior prior to this season aside from probably 5-10 games. This season I jumped on my SB and was immediately able to roll over people in Plat without even practicing. Without even knowing all of the abilities I could pretty reliably just go to far and 1v2 while picking up kills. The spec definitely needs to be toned down a bit...but I do think it should be minor changes to start. The way the class works I think it could easily go from OP to the bench with just a few poorly thought out changes.

    > Hey OP you realize the roamers you want to run away from would have the same mount to chase you and send you back home (to spawn) right? Guess you gotta l2p after all

OBVIOUSLY you would gain a +300% mount speed and health bonus when moving away from a mounted enemy. I mean this is the only way to level the playing field with those mean roaming bullies.
