Then it doesn’t count for the achievement. I think you have to do each of the sunken treasure sites for the achievement anyway.

Cameron, I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but in my experience with the bug, it happens when my party is at the water phase, and then the party wipes out. Upon restart we cannot complete the disperse cloud phase. This happened very first day the fractal came out to me, and then just the other day. It has to do with getting killed at the water phase. I have not gotten wiped in other phases to test that out, though.

I think what could be happening with this unknown entity is that there are beings in Cantha who are planning to rid of all the elder dragons, including Aurene and Jormag and the rest, hence end of dragons. But the plot to do so is nefarious similar to how Balthazar was trying to rid of Kralkatorrik for his own gain. I think how they intend to carry out the plan must lead to our interference to stop them.

  4. Any update on this? The bug is not fixed I ran into it tonight! Such a time waister to get to the end, get wiped at the water phase, and attempt a 2nd time just to realize we can’t complete the lightning cloud phase. I LOVE the fractal, but it’s too long to run into this bug time after time.

Wait, we got a new “Confer with Bangar” update today!! Seriously though, I love the new Fractal, but is it just me or does it not appear in Dailies or recs that often, while other fractals seem to appear more often. I want to play Sunqua more as a daily or rec!!

It’s proposed as an UPDATE to the existing template system, which should have been in my mind released with the template system. But, the template system is core game so why should an update to the template system be locked out by expansion? Doesn’t make much sense to me.

    > Stronghold and PvP leagues for sPvP and the Desert Borderlands for WvW were all marketed as coming with HoT along with some UI Improvements. In this case they shipped a bunch of features together that didn't actually require the expansion to pad out the expansion feature list.

    >

    > I think that it's equally likely that the Legendary Armory, Alliances and Jeweller 500 will be similarly marketed as coming with EoD to pad out the feature list for that expansion but you will not actually be required to purchase the expansion to gain access to them.

    >

    > They just arrive at the same time to increase the appeal to new and returning players. Put it this way, which will create more of a splash; Alliances released on some Tuesday night or Alliances released along with all the other content in a new expansion?

Ah that makes sense. Perhaps they annouce a 3rd gen to entice players to craft them too.

I still don’t get why legendary armory should be considered as being a feature of the next expansion. It’s proposed as an UPDATE to the existing template system, which should have been in my mind released with the template system. Unless you're leveling (which we only do once per account), it isn't going to happen. I think tier 4 should require 8-10 (or more), but the other tiers only 5-6 each (or less).

    >

    > It's supposed to be an incentive to help other people out.

    > It's not supposed to be about only your own benefit.

This is true. Similar to the weekly rush. If you want more rewards, play with some of the lower tiers more to get rewards. Help out some lower leveled fractal people, if you want extra rewards.

    > I don't feel like it's "late," because as long as the collection is in the game the circumstances around its completion are relevant, at least to people who haven't done it yet. Also, it's especially relevant as time passes because generally with things like this the price goes *down* as time goes on - they start out very expensive with a large amount of people looking to complete them and consuming the relevant resources rather than selling them (i.e. low supply + high demand = high prices). So it's not necessarily clear if things are tuned improperly during the first months. If these have settled into their long-term prices and they're still vastly more expensive than similar achievements and not much different from their launch prices, IMO they're not in a good place.

    >

    > Not sure why otters matter all that much - you can't resell them. The crafting components are the main issue. Each weapon is baseline at 6g just by using the most expensive inscription + 10 ectos. The stormcaller cores and lodestones control how far up they go from there - you can't get cores from anything but crafting, which keeps their prices quite high. Lodestones also come from a few achievements and can drop rarely from Drakkar, but their base components cost more so their price has been high for a long time. Another problem is that, unlike with similar achievements, you don't get a lot of components as tier rewards as you progress the achievement. That made the other ones much more obtainable.

    >

    > So, what can they do about it? It would be unlikely they would tweak the recipes and, say, require only 1 core and lodestone each. They'd also never change the achievement rewards, obviously. So really the only thing they could do is offer additional ways to acquire stormcaller cores and/or draconic lodestones. Most likely option would be as possible drops from a new meta or strike boss.

    >

    > Even still, the point of the thread was less about changing anything for Charged Stormcaller weapons and more about thoughts on meta achievements with this level of cost and reward. I guess people don't feel very strongly about it though. :p

Just like the gift of lightning or whatever the end goal is is valued the same as one or two of the weapons, so you’re better off crafting that without doing the achievement. I just don’t have incentive to do it other than if I want those skins. The tiered rewards just cut the overall cost down a little. Other than that it’s not too rewarding in my opinion. If you do want every skin unlocked then this is for you. I just spend all my money on legendaries these days so if I feel it’s not worth completing I won’t do it. If it was required for mastery I would have been working on completing it by now.

  10. I did my research ahead of time, and decided which legendaries I would do the achivements, and which ones not based on which was more economical. I already started some achievements like Twilight, incinerator, etc. and I’m not even at the point I want to make the legendary yet. Any ascended materials I need I’ll just save up and craft when I can. Not a big deal. If you jump right in and don’t research then yes it could be screwing you in some costs.

    >

    > Since we do not know what exactly Anet plans, thats quite a bold statement. I consider it a quality of life update: You don't have to swap your legendary from one character to another. So why not skip the template thingy, wich seems like an unneccessary step in between and simply give every character the ability to get a copy of legendaries you already crafted for a fee? Sounds much more user friendly and logical imho.

    >

    >

All I am saying with this is if you craft one legendary sword, you get access to one copy across any character and template that you can use at any time. If you make 2 legendary swords, regardless of if it’s a duplicate or gen 1 vs. gen 2, you get 2 swords to use in templates across characters. If you are saying you can get an extra copy for a fee, the cost better be like 1500 g or you just devalued the process of making a legendary. Runes and sigils would be the same way. 1 copy vs 7 copies of runes you need to make is a big difference, and I don’t see that changing because it will have a pretty big impact on economy. Just making templates to begin with will impact economy to a certain level. People won’t make extra legendary sets of armor, but it will persuade some people to make legendaries.

    >

    >

    > As to alliances, I don’t think they’ll make a huge difference either way, but it has been well over a year and a half hasn’t it? The armory I don’t think they’ve “scrapped” but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it as a feature included with the expansion as it also could have been planned before the expansion. May be part of their plan to get the expansion out sooner by pushing major features to it instead. They mentioned several months ago we would get more details, here we are and no word. So that’s why I’m making the assumption that the idea of it being released within the scope of this saga is “scrapped.”

Armory won’t be an expansion feature because it’s an update to an existing base game feature. It might get released around the same time, possibly, but not as a feature.

  13. “Fixed an issue in which the Sorrowful Spellcaster would not appropriately exit her Whirlwind Shield after all the storm clouds were dispersed.“

Our fractal group on T4 tonight got the boss down to 20%, and then died. We restarted and couldn’t make it past the stormcloud part. Even though we dispersed everything, the phase would not end and lightning kept attacking us and killing us.

Anet did not call this episode the finale, and there was no big ending rather a cliffhanger for the next episode. Plus you got the Confer with Bangar achievement that is bridging the two episodes (4 and 5) together. Generally when the living world season ends we know it’s going to be big and there is generally a legendary item collection released with it. Also, the icebrood saga currency reward where you get to choose icebrood saga currency from wvw and pvp tracks has coming soon for materials:

    > >

    > > While I doubt that was the finale I wouldn’t be sure about there being a lot more episodes left. When they announced the saga they didn’t have any intention of making an expansion so who knows what’s been shuffled around to make room for it. And with it having a 2021 release date it may have been focused on for quite some time meaning a sooner release than expected.

    > >

    > > And with all the other canned features like wvw alliances and presumably the legendary armory, along with the absence of an episode this month it feels like things have probably shifted internally as they’ve revised the rest of this saga to be an introduction the expansion.

    > >

    >

    > Stop spreading the fake news of alliances being scrapped. We all knew ATs were first, now that's done and they switched to work on that. Armory isn't scrapped, this is a gigantic feature in case you haven't noticed. ANd "absence of an episode this month" is stretching it extremely. It's been exactly 2 months, even if they are putting it out 3 months in, that's still faster and about on track.

    > People need to stop counting hours with this. There is absolutely zero indication the next episode will be any different.

They have also been known to releAse episodes extremely close to events also. The new fractal and event is giving a gap that they are looking for and then there may be some kind of announcement once that is over. Personally I am enjoying the fractal and doing north meta in drizzlewood here and there for otters. Not to mention the endless grind of legendaries. Keeping me busy definately til next episode whenever it may come.

Disagree. The episode was not the final episode of the saga. The epiloge was switching gears from the fight to the end of the episode. Anet did not call this episode the finale, and there was no big ending rather a cliffhanger for the next episode. Lots ot things that say the saga is not over. There is more than likely no more living world seasons before the next expansion so ice brood saga has a ways to go.

  16. Personally I’m working in frenzy now. Just the precursor collections because it’s so cheap. I have several legendaries I’m planning before this one but I will make this eventually just to gear my main out with all legendaries. My main focus is also gearing if legendary armory ever shows up.
