  1. No expansion, no expansion like content, build templates being a big disaster... I'm not surprised, I've personally stopped putting much money in the game. And I use to spend a couple hundred dollars a year.

I'm excited about the balance patch, but the game is running at a crawl.

I'm still sort of optimistic though, it just means that for now, the game is taking up much less of my time. Hopefully they will announce an expansion soon, because I've been waiting for new weapons on some of my favorite classes for so long...

Time will tell if it just keeps in this direction or the company finds a way to develop amazing content again, like in HoT. Honestly, I miss that launch. Was so damn much fun looking back. PoF was nice for awhile, but it really lacked the sustain factor of HoT for me.

And as much as I love mounts, I wouldn't be against new zones having a new mastery to allow mounts, to give us more of the raw feeling of core and HoT. Too many details get passed by with the current game design.

My 2 cents, but this is still my favorite MMO and with PVP about to become rejuvenated, I'm excited to try that again soon. It's been way too boring since PoF. I barely play my favorite game more anymore.

The new maps have been nice imo, but the skill bloat and poor game design choices left me feeling sour.

Still love this game! And I hope it finds its legs again soon.

Also, can we please kill Braham? Let that wolf spirit be a ruse and have him turn into the voice of jormag. I can't believe after dragging his drunk ass around, being insulted and eventually apologized to. Mistake after mistake, he's rewarded by being the chosen one. And somehow the commander gets one shot... I fought a God and won. I came back from the dead... That was just ridiculous.

I don't need my PC to be OP, but that made no sense.

Take your time, rebalance the game. And release us a massive expansion and finish it this time. Every expansion feels rushed.

    Be innovative like the release.

  2. Stealth should impose a damage debuff that stacks. After 3 seconds in stealth, -20%; After 5 seconds -30%; After 7 seconds -50%. Only in PvP & WvW. Fades as soon as you come out of stealth/deal damage.

You still have 3 seconds to setup your full burst, but if someone is running from you, playing defensive, not giving you an opening, it makes sense that you'd deal less damage with the opener. And also stacking 9+ seconds of stealth into a burst won't be nearly so viable anymore.

  3. However, I do wish a bit more thought was put into some of these changes. There are some general rules they applied to all skills, that should've instead been applied to almost all skills. It just looks like there were no clued in developers that did a full pass over the notes and made small adjustments. But overall, this is a big improvement from current balance. I can't wait to play at this reduced cadence!

Ex: Headbutt deals double damage if you have stability! From 4 to 8 dmg...

You can't move while channeling the skill... Good luck beating other players with that. I feel like this is a backwards troll attempt at S/P thieves that are actually killing people while evading. Because the skill stuns when it lands, holding the enemy in place.... But I'll definitely give you points for baiting so many people.

Oh no... I didn't realize this is affecting such a large portion of the playerbase.... A-Net, please fix this before you make any new expansions. We should first get the game in order before moving forward, and this is a staggering problem.

Also, can we nerf the glyphs of elementals. If an elementalist cycles between both the elite and utility skill, they can get almost 75% pet uptime for a class that isn't even a pet class... Another big problem to fix along with the imbalances of '1v1 underwater pvp tournaments in wvw'. Something I know everyone on this forum is actively participating in.

lol... proceeds to troll new player.

Condi warrior is not great in any player vs player environment, although it can be made functional at low tier pvp and wvw roaming.

I'd say a build like this could throw some people off, but it's mostly a ganking build and takes some game knowledge to pull of good bursts and use your counter pressure (your only real defense with this build) to help yourself sustain fights.

    http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PKwAw+RlRwwYMMQmJW6W+tVA-zVJYsRHfI4cQCieL+6gB-w

Otherwise, you can go for different stats like dire, and drop the rifle for a longbow, and switch your burst crit trait into the condi one.

Even though this whole thread seems like one giant troll, maybe this will help someone have some fun on condi warrior.

  7. I have a dream, that our capped brothers and sisters won't be relegated to in-game only. That when you log into the game, you see your cape in all it's majesty...

Let's add back items to the character select screen, and never have to go another day seeing our characters violated; their normally strange backs revealed, instead of

the beauty that is the cape... Thank you.

  8. Hey everyone,

I have a suggestion for solving the issue with condi weaver in PvP, while avoiding the potential heavy handed nerf that A-Net might come up with down the road.

In my opinion, the main issue of the condi weaver in pvp is the ease of applying the burst. By combining the glyph with primordial stance, the aoe procs will spread massive condi pressure.

My proposed solution is to have the glyphs charges, only be consumed by weapon skills.

I really think it'll have a big impact, while not really changing too much. This change will help players avoid the condi burst.

Let me know what you think, I would make this a general change for the functionality of the glyph.

  9. I remember my first time in pvp, I encountered a few thieves that could just shread me. I worked hard on building an engie build that could sustain their burst. The best moment during that time was starting to learn how to survive. Eventually heading more towards damage builds and learning how to use other defensives. Eventually I switched over to full zerker staff ele for pvp and had a great time. Too bad they nerfed it so hard, even though it was underperforming mostly.

But pvp went from cool, to ouch, to hmm, to grrr, to yea! and finally to fun. I really enjoyed early pvp as well as the first few seasons, minus a few hicups (chrono bunker)

  10. I suggest adding a minor trait for chrono that says something like this: "Your clones exist outside time itself, and are slow to fade away. If your target is dead, fading clones can be detonated on a new target for a limited duration. (Default 5 seconds)" Basically means that clones don't disappear right away with Chrono, instead they stay around for 5 seconds and pick up on a new target if you press a shatter skill. However, after 5 seconds they still fade away regardless.

If shattering is more difficult for chrono, it should also be more reliable once you get clones out.

I also think that continium split should grant distortion for 2 seconds instead of 1.

  11. I guess we'll get an answer in about 8 hours. But feel free to bump this it you're also curious for this information.

I've seen a number of players claim this won't be implemented in PvP, but I don't think anet has the tech in place to prevent that. In my eyes, it'll certainly work in PvP, which means those classes (especially ele) will be getting huge buffs. And it's not being mentioned.

Ele especially can benefit from a weapon change before engaging in 1v1 or teamfights, to allow them to pick the ideal tool for the situation.

I'm excited, but also a little worried about the change.

    Still hoping for a response @Fire Attunement.9835

    Thanks!

  12. I'm against removing fall damage traits. Especially without a replacement plan. Just leave it alone. It's not an issue for anyone. Make changes that help players enjoy the game more. Don't remove options for us. Wow went that route, and slowly gutted everything that made classes special. (not the same, but similar concept of streamlining for nothing) Years later, they are backflipping cause it was a terrible decision. Leave us this option, I like it, and so do most players.

    > That video for the Spellbreaker is interesting. The build is more or less the same that I use. Not sure what is the biggest difference though because in the video he takes much less damage from the hits than I. Maybe it's his gear? I only have exotics and the build in the video uses Ascended gear.

His build leaves him with about 3k armor. It could have an impact. The build video is what I linked, so it shouldn't take much to dig up that info.

    > This is fine but lets balance the other overperforming stuff first instead of constantly nerfing thieves because theyre kind of annoying.

Oh I agree, still have FB over performing with no nerfs in sight, and condi ele is a little too spammy and brainless for it's potency. Then, there are the other outliers already being nerfed next patch, and we'll see how they perform after.

Honestly, thief feels pretty balanced, but I wouldn't be against some type of mechanic that prevents/slows one shots from all classes. (Maybe player hp can only decrease by a maximum of 50% per second in pvp, so someone being pressured hard has at least 2 seconds to react in some way before the fight being over)

I cringed during the OP video, especially since I mained thief for a long time, so I saw all the ways he could destroy that DE. Still, unhealthy gameplay is unhealthy. But, if it doesn't overperform, than it's really a minor issue. I can usually kill any DE on most classes. But good ones can still contribute to a match. Before all the nerfs, I found DE very bad for the game. Same with Scourge when it first came out. Funny enough (not to change topics), but I finally thought scourge strength in pvp was balanced and then it was nerfed hard in all modes.

There have been a lot of elite specs that were game killers at their inception: Chrono, DH, Herald, Mirage, Scourge, Holo, DE, SlB, SB, FB, Renegade.

Some made the game too static: Chrono, FB

Others were simply too powerful: Herald, Mirage, Holo, SlB, SB

Some had ridiculous mechanics: Scourge, DE

And some made you regret ever rolling the character: Renegade

Back to the original topic, I don't think DE is a significant problem today, however it's base concept and mechanic is very hard to balance, but with lower effectiveness, it's under control for now (mostly), when compared with the main issues today: Mirage, FB, Rampage, Condi & Staff thief, condi ele and Holo. Once all those are fixed, then we can start to focus on things like DE. (Scourge is already solved imo in terms of no longer being oppressive) And finally when all that is sorted, the gameplay might start to resemble older patches in terms of pacing and combat. PvP these days can be way too spammy, but it's all got to get sorted on so many different classes before it can be brought back to more balanced levels.

  15. This build shows everything wrong with Ranked. Even while losing every single 1v1, and contributing almost nothing to the game, the OP managed to get an easy win.

I thought the DE would be farming him given his pattern of behavior.

Now outside of this, I'm not a super big fan of DE stealth mechanics being tied to dodges, and only when holding a rifle. Maybe put an ICD on the ability of about 2 seconds, so double dodge will get you punished. But otherwise, DE is not that strong right now, and I don't think it needs any major nerfs in pvp. I'm open to hearing alternative opinions though.

  16. Don't get rid of fall damage traits without giving it some alternative. It added flavor and content for players to interact more with their environment. Don't remove a potential gameplay option. I could agree with some others with some kind of mastery, but one you can't always have active. Maybe an ability to reduce fall damage by 50% for 5 seconds. Something to keep some measure of mechanics with the damage taken from falling. For wvw, fall damage traits can be pivotal to certain roaming strategies, and excellent sources of fun for the playerbase. I'm fine with the other changes to revive speed.

Well it is called a Range-r. Maybe after 7 years, they realized what that meant...

Sorry, please do go on. ;P
