I so hope for this. Don't need another boring GS spec.
-
... is something like that possible?
I am just leveling my new Revenant but I found Staff + Shiro to be very effective. Impossible Odds + Staff Auto Attack is dealing a ton of damage by itself and weaving it with other DPS skills sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe some kind of Power build? I am new to Revenant builds overall so I basically have no idea what's a go and what's a no.

I love the Trident. The skills, the visuals, the mechanics. Everything.
-
I hope for Cantha and a Ritualist class or at least Elite spec but ANet doesn't seem to go the Cantha route anytime soon (ever).
Nevertheless PoF is barely 8 months old, the announcement of the next expansion is +8-12 months away and the release more than a year so... why even bother.

Yeah I picked Charr and what can I say, I love it. The Staff animations are so much better. I just have way more fun playing a Charr Revenant than I had with my Sylvari. Thanks!

No surprise: we went from being able to spam Rapid Assault 4 times in 5 seconds to 1 attack in the same time lapse (5 with the quickness of impossible odds); is a net 75% damage loss which no buff in base damage would compensate. Than with the older spear? No way. Probably now is impossible for a Rev to kill a Druid or a Guard/Firebrand in underwater combat. Trident is a very bad weapon vs enemy players; not only does low damage but also the cast times from skills ouside auto are huge: Mesmers, Thieves, Engies and Warriors will interrupt you at will whereas Necros, Guards, Rangers and Eles will tank you and easily bruise you to death.

Now is mostly a copycat version of _land renegade_, including 0 defenses in weapons .
Talking about PvE and talking about content <80. I had a lot more problems with Spear to fight (groups of) enemies, the Trident is super powerful. That's my experience so far.

I love the Trident as well. And what should I say I feel way more powerful with it than with a Spear.

This gives me the idea for some kind of Weaver spec for Revenant where you can "mash" your two active legends and they get shared new skills. Could be really awesome if done right.

Not sure if Revenant needs another melee weapon at this point of time. If they give us the GS as a ranged (power) weapon (what Hammer should have been) like Mesmer I'd be fine with it though.

Come on, a bit more input would be nice! :)
Thx Milan.

Isn't one of the Mesmer auto attacks proccing boons? (Staff 1)

Hey there!
I just wanted to start a brand new character and I chose the Revenant. That was an obvious choice for me. The race is another challenge for me now... I already have a Sylvari Necromancer themed around death, dusk and all that stuff. I made another Sylvari Revenant that's got almost the same name as the other one (changed just one letter) with the same theme, death, mists and this time night instead of dusk. In my mind they're some kind of "twins" or "sibblings" etc.
But here comes the problem: I really don't want to play another Sylvari quest-/lore-wise. So I made a Charr... my first ever. And I really like it overall. I am not sure though if it fits the theme (his father was a sorcerous shaman in the Flame Legion and he is a very talented "sorcerer/magician" by himself but wants to part ways with the legacy of his father, he's got some skulls in his haircut for another reference to death...).
So here are pictures of both characters. Which one of the characters fits Revenant better in your opinion (and why)?

Wow I really really love the Trident. Great skills, great damage, great utility. They did an amazing job here. And the visuals... WOW! Skill 3 looks so sick. All of them look great. I am VERY pleased with this.

Yeah most devs are too lazy or not capable of creating it. Look at SWTOR or ESO, devs didn't even implement diving or swimming.
I am very pleased that GW2 has a lot of amazing underwater stuff.

I think that's related to gliders (air) and mounts (ground).

Who said that anything coming next will be (under)water related?

I don't want miss underwater content, it's awesome. It just needs better tweaking and balancing, which hopefully is done today. Underwater content is super rare in MMORPGs nowadays and GW2 is outstanding in that regard.

Do we know for sure that there will be "land based" balance changes as well? Thought it would be just underwater combat.

Wouldn't it be strange to come up with an entirely new Elder Dragon when there's still 3 of the known ones left?
I am not up to date with the recent events as I just returned to GW2 but after Mordremoth's surprise appearance is there really a need to do this again?

Can somebody tell me when we can expect the notes for this update? Do we usually get them in advance or just right after the patch has been deployed?
-
Thank you all!

Would love to get Scepter as a new ranged weapon. Or GS for ranged combat like Mesmer.
Or even better: double dagger as (mid) range power weapons, swirling around you and attacking your enemies from distance.
I mean let's say we'll get Ritualist as new elite: what weapon would fit?
-
So the Hammer as a "basic" ranged weapon for Revenant has almost zero traits improving it? What if I don't own PoF (I do but the lack of Hammer related traits is beyond me)? So the Hammer is mostly useless?
Vengeful Hammers is an upkeep skill then? Or can you name me a Revenant upkeep skill?
-
Can somebody tell me? I like using the Hammer but is there no skill line that's got some Hammer traits? Every other class has skill lines dedicated to distinct weapon types but somehow it's missing on my Revenant? I am just level 15 so don't judge me but I am a bit confused and really don't know how to build my Revenant yet.
With most other classes it's quite obvious which skill line benefits which weapon and vice versa but either the Revenant lacks a clear direction or I am missing something (if so please enlighten me).
Is it supposed to be Retribution and Jalis? But there's like nothing for DPS?
And what exactly is an "upkeep" skill? Something like "Vengeful Hammers"?

How would you do that though - they're sacrifing their access to Fire / Water (aka Scourge lost the Shroud) elements to double / enhance the effects of Earth / Wind? And what kind of weapon would you give them?
Warrior and Staff sounds quite plausible, what would you give to the Elementalist?
