I would love to be able to set a custom avatar for my forum account instead of those standard ones which will be shared among many users. I don't mind if it can be hosted/uploaded to the forum or linked from my own http server.
Thanks a lot!

I would love to see some improvements on this subject indeed.
In game: Character creation date : Aug 26 2012 (beta weekend), 2438 hours, 18289 AP, 193 mastery.
100+ posts on the 'old' forums which will most likely be ditched.
And I got just "promoted" to recruit. Thank you very much.

I love the looks of the game and fid it impressive for the older DirectX 9 renderer.
Having said that, there could be quite some improvements to get some of the CPU load over to the GPU and single-tread load spread over multiple threads. But I understand these are difficult and complex changes to make which is the reason why these improvements are not here yet.
Just switching to DirectX 11 won't magically solve these limitations, so don't hold your breathe while waiting for these improvements. Maybe, one day...

May we get (non-image) signatures back please? I would love to add two links to my GW1 and GW2 wiki user pages under my posts.
Thanks a lot!

Some of the forum content may be present at the [internet Archive](https://web.archive.org/web/20170914083730/https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum "https://web.archive.org/web/20170914083730/https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum")
Most threads are not saved (yet). If the threads you want to save are not yet saved, you can browse to it via the archive and select to save now. (As long as the old forums are online) You will need to do this manually for every page of every thread you want to save.
I would prefer if the old content was ported over, for historical purposes. But I can understand [one reason](
"one reason") why they did not. -
I get a problem sometimes when I attempt to use an emergency waypoint. The waypoint is pinged to chat, I double-click on the waypoint, the game starts loading the (otuer) level.
But when about finished loading the level, it starts loading again to the default waypoint of the map. By the time this has finished, the emergency waypoint is gone and I’m not able to help my team there.
I think that it has something to do with loading times when you have to switch levels. It would be nice to get have the waypoint open timer only affect when you start loading (double click the waypoint) and not when you finish loading it.
I do have a [decent computer system](https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/external?l=https%3A%2F%2Ftweakers.net%2Fgallery%2F23645%2Finventaris%2F%3Finv_id%3D1143743 "https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/external?l=https%3A%2F%2Ftweakers.net%2Fgallery%2F23645%2Finventaris%2F%3Finv_id%3D1143743") but it does not have an SSD so load times are still limited by the spinning magnetic harddrive.

Players who are satisfied with the changes are happily playing the game. Players who are unsatisfied give their comments in the forum, hoping to get heard. I don't think this will likely change. Opinions in the forums are not representative of the entire player base.
I used to be active in the Creative Labs forums for their soundcards. When you would consider the forum, their sound cards would appear to be utterly crap. But in general, Creative sound cards have been fine for the majority of their users. Just the ones who experience problems go to the forums.

Those SAB boomboxes would be nice to see a return in the gemstore. They have been gone for ages.

As Guild Wars Legacy player who pre-purchased the game, I started playing during the first beta weekends. But in GW1 and GW2 I almost exclusively played Elementalist. However, only a few weeks after the game's official release I more of less got disappointed by the new weapon-based skill system and could not find a build that suited a convenient playing style for me. This ultimately resulted in taking a long break with the game until around the Season 1 finale. But after this break I gave the game a second try and found a nice and convenient Scepter/Dagger build which focused on Earth Magic and condition damage. (Bleeding) Having finally found a nice build I quickly found myself back into the game, finishing the main story line. Here I regained an old hobby of me, namely Title/Achievement Hunting like I did in GW1. I also find great enjoyment in just exploring the game, including trying to break out of the normal accessible parts of the map and void jumping.
The new achievement system has proven to be a good motivator for me to try out new content and game modes, including WvW and some PvP. I still consider myself to only be a casual player but I enjoy the game and hope to continue to have a wonderful journey through the beautiful world of Tyria.

Would you support ArenaNet if they implemented an optional subscription?
in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

No, I dislike subscriptions, even optional ones. The lack of subscriptions if the sole reason I chose Guild Wars over other MMO's years ago. I don't mind paying for content, nor paying for gems/micro transactions, but I don't like recurring payments for VIP accounts.
The points of improvement you mention I also support, but I rather pay for it per-feature than per subscription. Then I can select which features I like to buy/support.
Of course, ANet could add a big donation button for everyone who has too much money and wants to voluntarily give ANet monthly income to improve the game. But this should not change the status of the account over non-donators.
