  1. This comment will be heard better when posted in the Thief sub-section since most pros hangout under that dank den.

Personally, I don't have to land 100% critical chance for a Deadeye and there's no reason to do so since crit chance =/= crit damage. Having 80% crit chance means you are already landing 4 critical hits out of every 5 shots.

    1. Go for Valkyrie

    2. Infusions do not matter in your case since it's only a single ascended equipment

    3. It's pointless to increase crit to 100%, as you won't benefit anything from it

    4. Get Beryl Orbs and put them in your armor set

I'm in the advocacy of nerfing DE and its absurd damage output, but the thing is, DEs do not use the Trickery traitline. In short, no matter how many nerfs the Devs will do to LA, trash players who run cheese one-shot DE will not be affected as their build mostly revolves around SA-CS-DE.

    > Like my favourite, let's nerf a core weapon because some Elite spec has a trait that gives it too much dmg.

    > Of course it nerfs DE a little but why the hell take others with it.

Yep, they introduced a devil incarnate in the form of the Deadeye, yet they plan to nerf it by taking everything else with it. I pity the Core players especially those who plays Thief but doesn't have PoF.

Wait, maybe they are forcing people to buy PoF? Anyway, I'm excited to test the new SE, let's see if it can compensate the loss in LA.

You are missing the point. Not all Thieves run DE and not all of us love the spec. OP made it clear that Core and DD are the ones suffering from the crimes the Deadeye has committed.

  5. I don't play Mesmer class but the update is kind of insane. For a short time I have assumed that it'll be the condi build that'll be nerfed and yet it's the power build and the utilities were the ones gutted.

I feel bad for you guys.

    > The things is with qq players is that they keep complaining and having mez, mirage, Chrono nerfed under the assomption it's over powered. When it's actually no more powerful then any other classes in terms of Direct or condi damage. They'l keep on complaining about that no matter how many nerfs Anet provides when the real issue, is targeting the right mesmer & not the clones. The class is made to confuse enemies with clones. & it does. & players are qq about it cuz they keep bursting the wrong target. QQ players don't want a nerf, they want a free lunch when it comes to mesmers. So no clones, no phantasm or anything that can confuse qq's with the wrong target. Otherwise they will keep complaining.

People do not like dealing with things that fucks up their mind, this is generally true to other online games. Hence, why Mesmers and Thieves are hated as if there's an unspoken rule about it.

    > The point is: it doesn't matter that much. It's very little difference in stats. If you want to match power & precision, choose either Assassin's or Berserker's. If you want power & vitality, choose Valkyrie. You'll lose 10-15 points on one stat, gain about the same in another, gain the same in a third, and be without 27 points in the fourth.

    > It's not nothing; it's just not enough that it matters all that much.

    >

    > Alternatively, you can spend a little time in one of the LS3 maps to farm one of the other back items I mentioned in another post and get a backpack that does have Marauder's, then reskin it to _Wings of Ascension_. Once you upgrade the Wings, you'll be able to choose whatever you like.

No, thanks for the advise; I'm fine with the PvP back item as I don't have much time to get online and farm LW S3. I find the Valkyrie stats much suitable then just go with consumables to get over with the minor loss of other stats.

I have enough PvP League Tickets to cover for the four required wings of the Wings of Ascension back item and keen on combining it once I get an access to the game. While still away, I checked the wiki for the stats of the said back item and discovered that Marauder is not available.

There's no way for them to actually spam evades, man. I thought you'll join the "stealth OP plz nerf" bandwagon but then again I'm surprised that someone still complains about Thief dodges. Lol

Because playing PvP with brains turned off is more convenient than learning how Thieves' evade frames work.

  11. Thank you for your reply, just to take note that the same thing can be said to non-gemstore items such as Holosmith's Sword / The Cutting Edge.

I agree that the uniqueness of weapon sounds doesn't entirely bring down Legendary Weapons' overall value, whereas in these weapons they have unique footfalls and adjustable stats on-demand which separates them from normal and gemstore weapon sets.

The reason why we are pushing for this with ardor is because of the appropriateness of the sounds in relation to the weapon that they are representing. Hearing some Sylvari plant-based weapon do a metal sheathing sound when stowed or drawn doesn't add immersion and sounds less appealing. I hope your team understands.

  12. ^ Yes thanks for this question!

    To name a few:

Arcane Marksman Rifle - Needs an individual sound and rescaling. My friend bought an AMR skin, but it turned out to be like a blunderbuss!

Holosmith's Sword/The Cutting Edge - The sounds are like of those normal swords when equipped by a Warrior, Thief, etc.

Inquest Mark II Sword and Dagger - Just like TCE, should be more of a laser sword/dagger. Please fix!

Dreamthistle Weapon Skins - I hope these skins do not have that metal clunky sound when I purchase one because it'll be a downer!

Also please add some individual sound effects to them when drawn, why are some weapons still sound like metal when drawn/stowed when they are not?

  13. Title is self-explanatory, especially to the following items:

Arcane Marksman Rifle - probably the biggest downer, I bought this skin for my Deadeye and my colleague was amazed by its design. However, when it was time for him to purchase the skin, he was distraught when it started to sound like a 17th century blunderbuss.

Inquest Mark II Dagger - sounds like a utensil being used in a dinner party

Inquest Mark II Sword - sounds like a sword (it's supposed to be a laser sword)

Holosmith's Sword/The Cutting Edge - same with Inquest Mark II sword, you have the feel of a lightsaber, but when used by a Thief/Warrior it sounds like a sword.

There several other skins that screams for improvement and I would be glad if other people can bring them up. So far, the ones mentioned above should be improved for a start.
