A lot of people are expecting/wanting it. And the previous expansions brought them as well. I omitted Elite specs from the poll since those are pretty much a guarantee. (imagine the riots if there were none!) > @"Luthan.5236" said: > Optimization and modernization is not new content. That should happen separately. And with focus always on the latest content I do not think any changes will bring back more players to the old core Tyria. They should just leave it as it is. Engine upgrades would need to make sure that the hardware minimum specs would not increase. (To not lose players or force them to buy a better computer.) Should be optional then. (Question is if it is worth the work? In terms of earning money. Will cost a lot but not attract new players since it is not content.) Modernization is new content however. Imagine if core professions got new/redesigned weapons. (Look at core Engineer for example. We literally only have ONE main hand weapon that isn't tied to an elite spec.) That would open up so much build diversity. Modernization can also bring people back to old maps, while I can't speak for everyone I really do enjoy the world design of core Tyria but often don't play in it because fighting there is a snooze-fest. Aside from dungeons while leveling there is (imo) no challenge at all until lvl.80 when you move onto the expansions/Living World. This might also help new players as I've actually had a friend that liked the game til about the mid-40's until they quit because it became too boring for them. (Tried showing them buildcrafting however they didn't really see the benefit since things died so easily anyways and builds are much more important in the end-game that they unfortunately never got to.) As for optimization while that itself isn't new content it can still be a highly sought after feature many veterans look forward to.
  2. Requesting the return of the Strider's Medium Armor skin, Would _really_ love to finish my armor set. Please and thank you~!
  3. Personally I'm happy with our jumping puzzles. Another popular MMO I used to play also had a few jumping puzzles (literally about only a handful of them for reasons you'll soon see) but the thing that separates their puzzles from ours is that once you're in mid-air that's it. You can't alter your direction or speed. If you needed to make a small jump you prayed you didn't over or undershoot your target. It was much easier to mess up there, not to mention there wasn't any chest at the end of them! I'll be the first to admit though I'm no jumping puzzle guru and far from it! Even so I'm personally against letting us use mounts and gliders for JP's. A few nights ago I was playing with my friend who's new to GW2 and we stumbled across a JP I haven't seen yet. It took us about 15 minutes to figure it out but during that time we were trying different routes and exercising our noggins about how to beat it. When we finally did beat it both of us felt so accomplished (and unlike the other MMO actually rewarded. xD) Had mounts and gliders been enabled I would've most certainly just switched to my Mesmer and got on my springer to hop to the end and portal him without a second thought. Sure I could've forced myself not to if they were allowed but sometimes forced limitations help you to stop and smell the roses.
  4. I always wished there were skins/racial variations for some profession skills and honestly I wouldn't mind spending gems on them if they released them in the shop as something we could equip like mount skins. I'd love to have Asuran themed turrets for Engineer or fiercer looking Necro minions for example (Flesh golem looks more cuddly than scary imo :/) I don't think every skill needs a skin of course but mostly the profession defining ones personally. Guardians could have a skin for their spirit weapons, Warriors for their banners (imagine a Warrior carrying their guild's banner into battle) Mesmer shatter effects, etc. (On a side note would love to see some really creative stuff added. What about a line of "Plush Minions" for Necro, similar to the Plush Griffon's design? xD)
