    > Recently running into some issues with the EXP tag on NA fractal pug groups. If a group has an EXP tag on it I personally believe that the members of said group should adhere to a proper composition as well as have proper builds for their desired class. For example ran with a straight out of wvw cele necro today in the group where it specifically asked for dps. Axe/focus staff in PVE on necro c'mon man. Or another example is a berserk warrior whom was equiping his twilight for the look of it. Then when they call you toxic for pointing out simple things like builds being incorrect or messing up mechanics it really grinds my gears. I understand in t1s and recs and such non meta builds being okay for your class but beyond that in t4s and CMs I believe it is a hinderance. Any thoughts as to how we fix this in our community?

"EXP" technically just implies that players know the mechanics well so kicking them for continually failing a task or going downstate often is not unreasonable if it significantly impacts the progress of the group.

I agree that "EXP" should also imply a _suitable_ build which is either DPS, support/heal or boon gen(like chrono).

Personally I am happy to have a **Marauder** power build instead of full **Zerk** _as long as they still put out decent DPS and don't require babysitting_. Things become unacceptable when a DPS role player has defensive stats stats like vitality, toughness, healing power as their major.

At the end of the day, it's about communication before you start the run. If you're concerned, ask what builds people are running. Personally my tactic recently has been to get on my Tempest healer and start a new group myself "T4 dalies, pots/food - lf DPS". People should be able to figure out my role, or at least ask and most runs are done 1 shot in around 25-40 mins.

    .

Perhaps it might be a good idea for the system to change slightly so that each player must have passed the previous tier fractal to be able to access the next. - i.e. cannot do t4 nightmare before having passed t3. This way people might remember the appropriate mechanics.

    > Sigils/Runes depositable in banks, they simply amass in my bags and it's really a waste of time to find a WP to vendor 2 silver worth of runes/sigils when the port costs almost that much. Otherwise I'm stuck individually destroying them.

This is why perm bank/merchant contracts exist and there is a demand for them. Probably not going to happen. As others suggested, the best free option is to port to PvP lobby, WvW map or Guild Hall.

    > Could you create a short cut key for deposit all materials? This would save so many key stroke and to keep inventory clear while running around.

Would be a good change but in all honesty, looking at this and the 1st point, it seems like you have inventory management issues and ANet do rely (to a certain degree) on monetizing ease of access options like VIP passes/perm contracts.

    > Character placed items, could you make these optionally hidden or a feature to report people intentionally placing them near banks, on nodes, or chests just to agitate people. I'm sitting in LoA as we speak and someone has littered so much guild junk, box of fun, and aviator box in order to hinder bank access.

Neutral on this. Could potentially have a 1 meter non-placement radius on services NPCs but being brutally honest, I've never experienced this issue myself.

    > Crafting, could a favorites tab or option to pin commonly/daily crafted items to the top so we don't have to hunt through the smoorgish board of recipes.

Not arguing against this but we _do_ have a search function within the crafting panel. I'm guessing you make the daily gated mats like _Mithrillium_ etc.

  3. An interesting idea certainly but we have a few things which limit what can be done.

The original mount adoption licences were introduced as pack of 30. ANet later decided that this was not the optimal way of selling these due to the backlash experienced from some of the community. However you also have to remember that many people bought 10, 20 or all 30 of these before the newer system of individual 2k mounts and 1.6k packs was introduced.

ANet stated that they would leave the original 30 skins as they were for continuity, and personally I hope they do.

I am someone who liked the RNG aspect, the odds were clear, there were no duplicates (which was a great system) and I was able to make an informed choice if I wanted the 1:30 gamble, the 10:30 or buy the entire stable.

The gem store team made some alterations to acquisition methods due to some players being dissatisfied that they could not choose specifics and now we have that option with the Istan skins generation.

    > @"ROMANG.1903" said:

    > So right now mount adoption liscences don't obey any real logic. Anet creates a bunch of mounts and then when there are enough they will be made avalaible under a single liscence. Also, if you pay 400 gems, you have the same chance to get a super cool fiery griffon as you have to get a mere springer recolour.

That's how RNG works. It's a lucky dip, you always get something but it's a gamble.

    > As a nice bonus, why not make it possible to pay something like 50 additionnal gems to be able to choose which mount will receive a skin?

With all due respect, your pricing/costs are unrealistic.

This is already an option with Istan Isles Mounts but the difference is that players pay and _additional 800gems_ to be able to pick their skin. Asking to lower the price by almost 95% is ludicrous.

In conclusion, we can probably agree that it's better to leave the original 30pack alone as it is. It's been over 6 months and many players have invested and played the RNG system to get what they want. Some have exactly the right skin, some might still be working on it. Changing it to be selectable would go against what ANet previously stated when they said it will not be touched.

The newer sets which come out already have the RNG _and_ "pay extra to pick" options so really there is no need to change anything.

    Oh good, another constructive thread.

I suppose you'll want scourge banned after Mesmer, then SB because full counter is too strong. What next? Holo stuns too much, I guess you think that should go. What about druid and FB? Their sustain is _way_ too high, let's dump them immediately. And thief? well nobody likes being surprised from stealth, to be safe that needs to go.

Rev and Ele for next season until you find a fault with those.

Jeez, threads like this is why we need a down-vote button.

In all honesty, when it comes to opinionated polls on this forum where the OP is trying to prove that their pre-decided position on a topic is the correct one, you'll find they are all constructed from loaded questions and heavily biased voting choices.

Most amateur polls like this have several options "for" their idea, and one or two suggesting that if you pick against, there is something wrong with you.

The classic "decent people would like this and anyone who disagrees clearly hates babies/puppies/humanity etc".

    ok.

  8. Personally, I haven't experienced it, but I can only suggest this is may be due to increased activity on media regarding GW2. I'm in no way singling out new players but we have just had a wave of "Bless Refugees" join.

Chances are, given the recent spate of YT videos promoting GW2, there are some people joining just because of the hype but in reality, they won't be staying for long.

At least if you're hearing it in map chat, it indicates that those players have bought at least 1 expansion and extra funds for ANet is always good for the playerbase.

I sincerely hope ANet don't waste their resources on player housing. Many people barely visit their home instance appart from the daily farm and the Guild Hall is a far better alternative for a gold sink with decorations.

    .

Yes this topic rears it's head every now and again, but it's a small minority who "desparately" want this function and the best argument most put forward is - "well other games had it, why not GW2?" which is always a weak line.

    .

If you want an unbiased survey, create a poll with fair, balanced points. Not one of those loaded question polls where 7 out of 8 answers are "yes" and 1 is "maybe". To truely see if this is something the community wants, you need to ask if the playerbase would want resources going into housing development rather than other aspects of the game.

IMO, there are far better things ANet can do rather than creating a personal man-cave for the minority.

ANet support team is clearly going to be smaller than Blizzard, the playerbase figures alone are enough justify why.

With any tickets I've put forward, the reply has come back within a max of 2 days (historically) and a minimum reply time of a few hours.

I believe email change could be more complicated than you suspect since they possibly will have to verify details and check for suspicious activity on the account to ensure this isn't a fraudulent request (just a hunch).

best of luck with your ticket.

    - which expansion are you referring to? (do you mean the new LS?)

    - support team are not the same as dev team, they probably don't work on ingame content development so their work pace is not dictated directly by content release deadlines.

    - submit a support ticket via the website for best results.

    - as mentioned in other threads, it seems they are on a 10 day backlog at present.

    - "weeks" sounds a little unusual; are you sure it's been that long ?

As far as I am aware, there has been an influx of new players in recent weeks, some labeled as the "Bless refugees" and GW2 has been more prominent on various media channels. This has probably put more strain on the support team.

  12. PvP league and WvW Skirmish reward tracks are difficult to compare due to the reset time differences. Whereas is PvP you can complete all chests over the course of 1-2 weeks or the full 8 week season and still have the same rewards (for the same quantity of chests), WvW skirmish track resets each week and requires a more consistent level of commitment on a weekly basis.

Prior to grandmaster shards, WvW players had to craft **all** of their Marks which was to a degree unfair since PvPers were able to get 3 free per season.

The update was a move in the right direction IMO.

    > The last Season, each Rewards we got 100 Ascended Shards, so they Took -25 Ascended Shards for this next season.... Did you realize that? This is unfair!!!!!! Why did Guild Wars 2 Support do that????

It's not the support team who do this.

    > That's so difficult to win the Ranked Game to get Ascended shards and they change to get even worse?????

Actually you can progress through the tracks, regardless of your success, however I agree it is much faster if you win more matches.

    > Come on....... I want to get my Ascended Armor as son as possible, and PVP SEASON is the only way to get it..... Actually, Crafting is possible too, but I don't like crafting at all. I prefer to fight!

A couple of things to address here - firstly, you still need to craft Grandmaster Marks unless you are only using the free ones in which case you get 3 per season max, so it takes 7 seasons to gather enough for a full set. Grandmaster Marks are about 12-13g each to craft and at 20 per set, you'd be looking at a total crafting cost of 240-260g anyway which averages out to 40-44g per armour piece which is actually similar to raw crafting cost.

Shard-wise to get to 1200 doesn't take very long so a slight decrease is probably going to be unnoticed.

    > Please, We need reconsideration of all about it. Hey guys, if you have time, make a ticket for complaining about it please.

No, that's not necessary. besides which, tickets are for issues, not personal gripes and complaints when something is working as intended but not how you like it.

    > It's not like the weapons we do have are spread around equally. Counting elite specializations, there's 5 weapon types that have only 3 classes using them. If you added a new weapon type and only gave it to three classes, it'd be no worse off than shortbows or pistols are right now. Adding a full set of weapon skills, their associated animations and particle effects, and balancing them when a new elite spec is made, is no different if it's an existing weapon or a new weapon. Skin variety for a new weapon is a much bigger issue, than having to come up with new toys to give to each class.

    >

Although I agree that the spread of usable weapons is inconsistent with some classes getting more options (like warrior) and others having fewer (eg. engi), we need to consider how they are added currently. With every expansion, each class has had 1 extra weapon made accessible (the exception is warrior with 2 daggers rather than 1).

Introducing a new weapon such as 2H axe, spear, caestus, etc would also have to be done equally for all 9 professions to keep things fair. Imagine the backlash if a few classes were given a new weapon and others were either given an old one or nothing at all.

Based on the assumption that all 9 classes would be treated equally, we either see all 9 getting the same weapon - eg spear - which IMO is kind of boring to give to everyone.

Or we see 3 sets, 1 for each weight class, so guard, rev, warrior all have the same new equip (with different uses) as do the light and medium classes.

The final option would be to have 9 completely unique weapons which is a tremendous amount of work.

Not to mention that devs would have to update each loot table to include drops for anything added.

GW2 doesn't need to be like "almost every game". Also it is subjective to consider 2H axes "mandatory". Sword, shield, staff and bow are the basics which _almost_ every fantasy MMO has had (weirdly there was one played with no bows) - maybe dagger, but everything else becomes optional.

I'm not against new weapons being added, but it's never going to happen - you have to consider all 9 classes getting a new weapon - do they all get the same one, or 3 different, or 9 ?

Using the argument that GW2 needs to have something just because other titles have it is a weak argument.

OP mentions he is unable to access his emails so we can presume he is referring to contacting ANet via the Support/ticket function.

Whereas you will probably have an automated message through emails, I have never had an automated message on the support link saying they are looking into the matter.

You have to bear in mind that the game client will not be able to determine exactly why the disconnection happened all the time and cannot rule out a forced DC. The system is in place to discourage serial quitters and match manipulation (in ranked only). As mentioned in previous posts, regardless of your skill level, leaving your team 1 player short unbalances the match.

With all due respect, if you are having connection issues, I would recommend resolving those, rather than having a high chance of ruining the game for 9 other people.

My dude, the devs have implemented an improvement which some people have asked for for a along time now. Queuing tracks seems like taking it too far, just do that manually, it's really not that difficult.

Reducing the amount you have to interact with the game shouldn't be automatically considered QoL just because its "easier".

Unfortunately it's just a case of waiting. It would help if you provide your original serial code for verification as they will probably need this in order to change the email acc.

    > Hot needs to be nerfed overall its to hard for bormal players core difficulty in open world was best(before breakbars came)

Here's the issue with this discussion. Newer players tend to think that HoT should be a continuation of Core Tyria and since we have level80 maps in Core, HoT maps should be the same. This is incorrect and here's why:

HoT was an expansion released in October 2015, approximately 3 years after the launch of GW2. By this point many players were getting to a stage where they wanted more challenging content and _that_ was the intention of the HoT expac. Core lvl80 maps were simply outdated for players who had run through them multiple times and maxed out gear.

HoT provided a fresh new challenge. Mobs had increased agro radius (I believe), they had different mechanics and required a more intuitive approach. For many players who had got bored of steamrolling through mobs, this was a breath of fresh air, giving them a sense of danger and risk, forcing them to be more aware of surroundings. In short it was a step-up which was highly anticipated and much needed. Many aspects required more teamwork and the map-wide metas were introduced to engage people in mass co-operative play.

IMO the VB Night Meta is a better design than PoF Great Hall or Palawadan because it's not all about zerging but I guess they can't be compared directly.

HoT maps were deigned to be more complicated - TD being the most notorious. This gave us players a really great sense that we were exploring a genuinely dangerous jungle where one wrong turn may result in a fight for survival. The experience of being lost and not immediately knowing what to do for many players was something which made the game feel more "realistic".

    > Having the shade cooldown go from 10 seconds up to 30 is indeed a pretty big deal, but is it enough to push it out of the meta and even viability?

While it's true that this was somewhat of a big change, unfortunately the builds to suffer the most might actually be the blood/support orientated Necros which I don't think was the intent here.

Personally I play but don't main scourge and was more or less OK with how things were prior to this change.

As mentioned in a few other threads regarding this topic, changing _Sand Savant_ encourages players to pick a different trait so potentially _Demonic Lore_ is going to the the choice for offensive builds. This means that even though there are now fewer targets per shade, we are also **increasing** condi damage output (which was a source of complaint in the 1st place).

On the other hand, support/blood Scourge players, now have to consider more carefully when to drop a shade (if using SS) and provide barrier which impacts their support capabilities.

If we're taking PVP into consideration, it's even less of an impact since we still have 3 charges with half second CD before the full 30 sec CD is reached. During any single encounter, dropping 3 large AOE condi-pulsing shades is still going to have a lot of impact.

Is it a massive nerf? I feel for WvW, absolutely - but for sPvP, slightly less impact.

I think it may have been more effective to slightly reduce the condi application (perhaps anything that applies 3 stacks to apply only 2) on 1 or 2 main skills.

Throughout this thread there have been many point put forward why it's not really viable and the issues which may arise. I agree that straightforward naming weapons is not something I think is necessary.

Taking from my experience in an old MMO I played before GW2, there may be room for a variation of this idea. A major difference with crafting was the RNG aspect (not looking for this implementation) whereby a player knew which weapon they were creating, but the stats were randomized (could be crit, health, power, mana etc). So to craft a decent weapon to use or sell, you'd try multiple times, often getting unsuitable or trash stats until you (by random luck) hit that stat combo which you wanted.

_Here's the part which could be implemented_

Each time a player created a piece of gear (wep or armor) it would have in the description _"Crafted by playerX"_. The other part of that was if you were very lucky you could, by chance, craft epic gear with higher base stats and have your name on it.

The major difference in GW2 is that ascended gear cannot be traded so it's not quite the same concept, however, it could be an option to have your personal weapons labeled with "Forged by X" or "Constructed by Y".

It's not a massive change, and not one which I think is even desperately needed, but just an alternative idea with potentially less work needed to be implemented.

    My mistake, an oversight.

Can anyone clarify at which point the HoT stats were added to the selectable list on Mist Band/Pendent/Talisman as this could potentially be pre-LS3.
