All of this kind of depends on how OP defines competitive WvW. If you mean competitve fights, EU is more suited. There is a more active GvG scene, and servers tend to divide into fighting servers and ppt servers. If ppt is your game, then NA seems to be better for OP.

That beetle/griffon race idea is really something i would love to see in game. Being able to host time trial competitions for our beetle racing guild would be so amazing!
