I don't understand how it would cause more drama. It only makes things more clear. If someone left the guild, I might want to re-invite them since it was their decision. If I kicked someone from the guild, 99% of the time that means I don't ever want them in my guild again. Since there are no ways of just straight up banning people from guilds, eventually someone else might invite that (unwanted) person, without knowing any better. It actually did happen before. The situation you described is only useful if these two events happen right after one another, which they rarely do.
