  1. One of the best things in Guild Wars 2 is that we are not locked in races. Every race is equal, so there is no such a thing like "meta charr warrior" or "meta asura elementalist". You can create a charr mesmer or asura warrior, and your character won't be weaker/stronger than others just because of it's race.

Building your character's strenght and skills through personal story (choices) makes everything complicated.

  2. It would be much better if you play only with scepter as a MH weapon, because your ambush attacks deals most of the damage, so it's important to refill endurance (by swaping weapons /sigil of energy). I wouldn't recommend staff as a condi weapon. Axe does more dps in raw power damage on condi build/eq. Axe/Pistol or torch has literally more dps skills, when staff is: weak AA + very slow ambush attack, teleport + clone (no damage), 2 illusions /single target (low damage), chaos armor (no damage), chaos storm (weak CC, weak condi source).

Axe: AA + fast ambush (3 + 2 attacks per clone = torment burst), dps skill + clone, teleport and dmg (high power damage + confusion).

Torch: aoe burning (2x) + stealth, aoe burning + illusion (aoe burning and daze)

Pistol: Sigle target bleeding burst, strong CC

Scepter: AA (generate 1 clone at third hit) + fast bursty ambush (torment), block + clone, confusion burst.

So... scepter/pistol and scepter/torch for ranged combat is perfect. You can spam ambush all the time, just put a sigil of energy in your weapon and swap them below 50% endurance. Honestly staff has no uses in PvE. It's just bad. There are better options. It's not a support weapon, it's not good for condi, terrible on power.

  3. We have an option to disable all unique sounds from other players but it's time to give us another option — to turn off unique and legendary visual effects because it's seriously hurting my eyes. Sometimes it's annoying just the same as hearing Quip or other legendary weapon shoting horses over and over again.

  4. Just look at the LFG sometimes. 100LI, 250LI, 100 Dhuum KP(!), for SIMPLE and EASY content. How beating W5 is supposed to help me complete a strike mission which can be easily finished by bunch of random players without support and heal? I'm doing strikes everyday, only with random people. Of course, sometimes it's difficult to do Whisper Of Jormag or Boneskinner, but honestly LI and KP doesn't mean anything. I saw a lot of people pinging 250LI and messing raids like beginers. I can ping my 600LI and do 10k dps because today I want to play my engi and I never learnt it's rotation. I just have fun playing holo. But, hey, I have what you asked for. Does my LI matter now? I can be a first timer in strikes and screw everything, but still I know how to do raids.

It's not OK if you have to participate in different content to gain access to strikes; it's like "show me you dungeoneer title to play Fractals with us". Strike Missions are easy, just need to remember 1 or 2 simple things.

  5. I ended with the Imperator's Rank two times in a row today and noone in my squad got the achievement. 2CMs, we did it quickly, all events. Why? Rank is rank, don't tell me I have to do something more than reaching the Imperator's Rank to get an achievement for reaching Imperator's Rank. It doesn't make any sense.

  6. I just hope ANet will make specs equally good for condi and power damage because I don't want to be locked into only condi or only power damage.

Thief should get an Axe — focused on shadowstepping (like throwing weapon and teleporting).

  7. You have to play wvw if you want to craft a legendary weapon (mystic clovers are mostly used in legedary crafting), because Gift of Battle is available only through WvW reward track. So... it's weird if someone has a problem with mystic clovers from wvw or pvp, but gift of battle is totally OK.

Mystic clovers can be obtained from PvE. Buy 2 of them (daily) from Fractal vendor or buy mystic coins and gamble in Mystic Forge.

  8. Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

There was a Firebrand build created by **Lord Hizen**, but after some nerfs it has became an unplayable garbage.

So... I'm creating _garbage_ builds just for fun to play in Open World, kill champs, bounties and do group events solo _because I'm very impatient to call and wait for other players_ but playing this way brings me fun. Firebrand is my latest creation; my guildmate said something like "_That Hizen's build was freaking OP, I wish it could work again but..._"

_Challenge accepted_, I thought. I checked the build, some history of nerfs on wiki and started working on it.

Most important thing: High critical chance was from traits, especially **Righteous Instincts** (50% crit chance under the effect of retaliation). It's 25% now. New build includes some Diviner's pieces to fill that missing crit chance and bring some boon duration, because giving boons is what Firebrand (and guardian in general) can do the best. You want that fury and retaliation as long as it's possible. Marauder's gear is just for more precision and vitality, because after some point, vitality brings more survivability than toughness. It's easy to stack protection, fury, retaliation, vigor, regeneration, have some quickness.

**Radiant Fire** is for aoe burning. Striking a foe with more than 3 stacks of burning grants you fury (Inner Fire).

**Wrathful Spirit** is for retaliation; you enter the fight, you get hit — aegis is gone but you get 6 seconds of retaliation at start.

**Litany of Wrath**: awesome, super OP healing skill. Why would you use **Shelter** for blocking attacks if you could just _heal yourself by bringing pain to your foes?_

**Stand Your Ground**: Quick source of stability and retaliation, also: a break stun.

**Save Yourselves**: Lots of juicy boons.

**Feel My Wrath** and **Mantra of Potence**: Quickness.

    General tips:

**Tome of Justice** deals some damage, both power and condi. You should start with 5, then 4 (aoe burning).

**Tome of Courage** should be used to stack protection. A lot of protection. It's also a source of retaliation (4 and 2).

**Whirling Wrath** over the **Symbol of Wrath** makes combo Light+Whirl = cleanse bolts.

**Leap of Faith** over the **Symbol of Wrath** makes combo Light+Leap = Light Aura (retaliation).

Never use your last Matra charge.

**Tome of Justice** is recharged on kill.

Scepter is for range damage, but it could be replaced by sword.

If you want food, you should definately take something with precision/power.

It can be used to support people at meta events; carry your team when showing new players the awesomenes of dungeons.

Increased toughness might draw agro on some champs.

Not recommended for raids and fractals.

  9. Devastation: 3-3-3

    Corruption: 1-1-1

    Renegade: 3-2-2

    Weapons: Mace/Axe | Shortbow

    Armor stats: Viper

    Trinkets: Viper/carrion

Honestly I think viper is just garbage for renegade because renegade's skills have very poor power scalling, so you can just trade power for everything else that has condi/expertise and dps could be slighty lower. I play viper eq only because I play condi rene on raids and I just don't want to create another ascended set.

Renegade can tag very well. Embrace The Darkness is AOE pulsing damage, shorbow skills can pierce, mace/axe has 3 aoe skills and 1 for great mobility. You don't need to deal big damage to tag mobs.

  10. Dagger (thief) — traited, dagger AA can poison and bleed for more. 3rd D/D skill is purely for condi.

Dagger (ele) — I think it's made as a weird hybrid weapon because AA on fire doesn't inflict burn (only on crit; traited).

Scepter (ele) — for power damage is kinde meh, but still works somehow.

Shortbow (renegade) — shortbow is really nice ranged weapon if you play power renegade. Purely for condi isn't super strong, but renegade has very poor choice of weapons, so shortbow is better than nothing and shortbow is still better at power than hammer (faster, more damage, has soft and hard CC).

Axe (mirage) — does some power damage, especially ambush and Axes of Symetry.

Axe (firebrand) — axe's symbol is strong at power damage. I tried Firebrand on grieving eq and it's awesome.
