I could not possibly say, some things are best left a....."secret"

Any potential links to the Eye of Janthir are also pure coincidence as well......

_"We control the world. We provide the blueprint and we give the instructions. We're the people in grainy photos on grassy knolls. We're the shadowy faces in smoky backrooms and darkened board rooms. We're right here, hiding in plain sight"_

  2. Cutscenes are fine, but frankly I;d prefer consistency now at this stage. I don't think changing to cutscenes is going to make any major difference to most people not into story anyway, but a change at this stage would make for an inconsistent experience between seasons and expansion.

GW1 used essentially the same system as we have now - they were live in game scenes, with the twist that they were framed to look like cutscenes. Sure they were skippable, but as the devs pointed out, that created a range of problems they didn't want carrying over here.

As you allude to, I'm more inclined to believe players aren't invested in the story because of issues with narrative/dialogue rather than whether it is a cutscene or not. Something I can more sympathise with. I don't believe cutscenes themselves would make any real difference across the board.

    Aurene's big brother

In GW1 as a bonus mission, we saved him from waves of Destroyers (sound familiar). He is the only other known child of Glint and his existence has been speculated since Season 2

  4. AFter that scene of a dragon flying, Balth is seen wielding his weapon against a large leathery beast (you can see it's underside moving for about a second). Given the flying dragon has leathery wings and is pretty big, we can rule out Aurene. I suspect we can rule out Gleam as well. Whatever it is, it seems more like a normal Dragon if one such exists.

Whatever that was, it looked nothing like Aurene. Even at that distance, it is the wrong size and colour for a baby crystal dragon. I'm not yet convinced Aurene will play any part in this story. Just after that scene shows Balth swinging his hammer at a large leathery beast - so I assume Balth fights some sort of Dragon and it is the one flying at him

Way too small to be Kralk. Whatever it was looked smaller than Tequatl, let alone be anywhere near the size of what is one of the largest of the Elder Dragons

  6. I agree with sentiment that flax prices were likely driven by the high demand to speed level scribe and guild halls rather than mistaken hoarding. Players also like to hold onto things until they know what they are best used for.

Personally, if it should be in mat storage, it needs to go there from the beginning as inventory space can be crowded enough as it is. That is why it is exists alongside collection expanders - it is inventory space for materials, not a secondary storage system that is to be used when the economy is in balance

. It is difficult to judge before release having not seen the items, however Im leaving this pre-emptive feedback, since ill avoid the forums to avoid spoilers.

I also agree with the above poster that QoL and convenience of gameplay are a greater priority in this context than a virtual economy.

    >

    > Reworks are what we do when we have extra time after building a new fractal. We want to ship a new fractal every two living world episodes, and because our team has been getting more efficient and better with our scoping, it is likely we will have more time for reworks in the future. And don't worry, not every rework is going to be like the swampland one in that it makes it more difficult. The intent of reworks is to make a fractal more replayable by removing the bad parts and adding more good parts.

That's encouraging to hear, although I'm surprised to hear Swampland is perceived to be harder. Sure Bloomhunger is more challenging, but I find the swamp/orb bit sooo much easier now. Our Guild (when it was active) refused to do it because some where unable to get past the traps/race against time. This was an exceptional remake from my point of view (which is t1/t2).

Should only be season 2 affected by this. It isnt a bug, more an outdated design decision. To know whether you can qualify for an achievement, when you enter the instance, a yellow icon appears above your skill bar which disappears if you fail. If you hover your mouse over the icon, it will tell you which achievement is eligible.

  9. They are hugely queued up right now due to account related expansion questions. You will just have to wait it out I'm afraid.

There is no live support from Anet, but they are very good at sorting these exact issues. All I can advise is patience - one person posted it took 2-3 weeks for a reply recently, but the outcome was positive at the end.

Also, don;t make any new tickets for the issue in case you intended to. That will slow things down further and cause the queue to back up even more

  10. Thanks Gaile. Shame the reaction system has to exist at all, but this is at least fixes a major issue with the new forum. I think really the only issue that remains for me is the intense white background, but since I'll be avoiding the forums as much as poss during the initial weeks of PoF to avoid story spoilers (a lesson I learned the hard way from HoT), hopefully that will be fixed within that time.

  11. The icons are the biggest problem. Firstly, they overwhelm the post so that they become more important than the post itself by drawing the eye away from the text. That makes it messy, harder to read and just opens so many opportunities up for trolling. I am a bit surprised a community savvy company like Anet didn't think about harassment via its forums as a side effect here.

Secondly, forums are a place for constructive feedback and ideas to discuss or be used by the dev team. They aren't meant to be a popularity contest.

The homepage is clearer, although the white is an eye killer still

Great to have a better mobile experience and search engine.

It appears editing is on a timer? That could be problematic if we need to update a post?

To be honest, ditch the thumbs up/down icons and it'll probably be fine. Right now, threads are messier than Reddit
