Do people need to pay 200 gems for the Icebrood Saga releases?

This is what I did since I am not interested in crafting or legendaries. I found that I got around 300 gold from just selling all of my mystic coins alone, which I received free from the daily log-in rewards, on the trading post.

Glad that it helped. If you don't need to use them anytime soon, you'll keep getting a lot more from simply logging in daily so it'll build up over time for you too anyway.

Every episode (including ones not numbered) are 200 gems a piece. It is a living world season full of episodes, just not in name.

If you got a free to play type of account and logged into it for a long time during several living world releases they will be locked for you. Once you pay for the expansions all those will be unlocked, except the ones you missed before you started playing the free game.
