Karma armor is a terrible investment. You can buy Zhed's off the TP for dirt cheap and not lose the runes you put into it with a free BL Kit of course. Also, you'll get ectos back from salvaging when you upgrade to ascended.

Zhed's Coat costs 90 silver on the TP. Two daily rewards is enough to buy the whole set. And, as Tman said, you'll be able to actually put good runes in it and salvage them back out later.

Agree that karma armor is not a good deal unless you want the skins for the three armor classes.
