Ahh, ok...that makes sense. I've never had one of these backpack covers and wanted to make sure what I was getting. Thanks a bunch, Dean!

Yeah its essencially just a skin, not the piece of gear itself.

When you buy a backpack skin, it comes in a pack with a simple backpack straps (lv 1 backpack that doesn't have any skin at all) and the skin that works essentially like a free transmutation charge exclusively for that skin.

You usually put the BackPack Straps or wear whatever backpack you want to keep using and then double click on the other consumable skin (the one with the skin name, in this case, 'Plush Tybalt Backpack Cover') and it asks you if you wanna apply the skin in your current backpack.

It applies to pretty much all skins except the achievement ones like Zenith or Radiant ones https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_point_rewards

(those can be copied from your achievement UI and used for free as many times as you want.)

When you get a skin you can apply it once, for free, and if the skin is soulbound (most are) it will automatically unlock itself in your wardrobe. If you want to use that skin on a second item on a different character, etc, you would be required to use a Transmutation Charge.

On a side note, you don't have to copy those skins from the Achievement screen. If you apply them the regular way through the wardrobe screen, it won't consume a transmutation charge which is neat.
