Foxraging.1269
In either pvp or pve, I play both significantly and I love the hammer. I just feel im not doing the kind of damage im supposed to with proper hammer builds.

CptAurellian.9537
That's the PvP build. For PvE, it's probably still the good old classic: https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Dragonhunter_-_DPS/Support_Hammer OP, keep in mind though that hammer does substantially less damage than GS/Sc+T. phor.7952
I think this FireBrand variant is actually a little better for open world PvE than the old DragonHunter Hammer build: [gw2skills.net/editor/?vVIQFASnsADFBjFCBuCBEEhl4BD7CEF2C7v0aaPtKA8AKAA-jxRBAB3o+D/7P8wDAAgLAgZKBvS5He6AEFQgB-e](http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVIQFASnsADFBjFCBuCBEEhl4BD7CEF2C7v0aaPtKA8AKAA-jxRBAB3o+D/7P8wDAAgLAgZKBvS5He6AEFQgB-e "gw2skills.net/editor/?vVIQFASnsADFBjFCBuCBEEhl4BD7CEF2C7v0aaPtKA8AKAA-jxRBAB3o+D/7P8wDAAgLAgZKBvS5He6AEFQgB-e") (I prefer shattered aegis because it helps the kill speed fighting normal mobs, but against vets/elites/champs or in dungeons you should take Symbolic Avenger instead) You trade away a good chunk of +damage modifiers and Procession of Blades. But in return you get way more Quickness up-time and a lot more Aegis applications as well as a better activator for Protector's Impact. You also have a better source of Swiftness/Stability from Tome of Courage if you need it. I think it actually comes out slightly ahead in dps solo, and way ahead if you're in a group. But I have no idea if it'd be any good for PvP. Probably not.
Zhaid Zhem.6508
With some Healing power it could be a good sustain in fractals http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAS5ensADFBjFCBuCBEEhl4Bb/lWT7pVBgtU9CrHkE2CA-jRRXABRp+zT6GmS5H0KBBY/BRBEYA-e The healing skill gives every 12 secondes : quickness + aegis ( Quickness + heal) + the heal of the runes. Combinated with 5-4 of the tome of resolve... The hammer gives a lil sustain (you'll stack 2 symbols with quickness) and perma protection. I'd like a comeback of guardhammers party, spamming AA and "feel my wrath". That was really fun how we smahed fractals 50. Edit : http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAS5ensADFBjNCDmCBEEhlHCbfemPDoYBgGwHI7EMfyAA-jhRXABCr8T0nAobIalgAs/gsq/s7FBQUA+F-e It might allow 4 dps 1guard in fractals instead of chrono/druid. Heal per second : (symbol) 230 + (passive f2) 230 + (perma regeneration) 330. (Aegis) 1440 + (runes of water) 2080 + (dodge)1600 ( a lot more with percent outgoing healing and Imbued Haste) perma protection perma quickness +15% endurance regen for the allies condition removal some mights some fury
Hellios.4108
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAS5ensADFBjtCBGCBEEhlBCbfhGRzoWBgqVbCLDsduBA-jxRBQBT8iAsv9HMpSwMq8rp6Guq6PA4JAAA-e Easy perma quickness + protection + a lot of might Nice healing capabilities Nice DPS with retaliation trait combo and, if you want, a GS or Sword/shield for more damage pressure (retaliation + 30% crit from jewelry + fury) 100% crit chance Fire and Water blasts with hammer 2 and tomes Nice HP Pool and armor with amazing survivability I use this in open world & fractals and It's really easy to carry a group, no one dies and you can tank without problem. This is a pve variation of the well known Radiance Hammer build.
