Level 80 Boost puts your thief in Valkyrie gear (Power, Ferocity, Vitality). Your overall goal is to raise your base damage (Power) and critical damage (Precision for crit rate, Ferocity for crit multiplier) to kill stuff quickly. Valkyrie comes close to this but your Precision (critical chance) is too low to make optimal use of your Ferocity (crit damage). So, you'll want to start switching that Valkyrie gear for Berserker (Power, Precision, Ferocity) or Marauder (Power, Precision, Ferocity, Vitality) gear.

Your easiest path to gearing will probably be to pick up a bunch of "Named" exotics on the Trading Post.

* Buy a set of Nika's armor for about 80 silver each, you can keep the runes they come with for now: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Named_armor

* The cheapest Pistol I can find is Venomstriker — this'll last you a good long while, though of course you'll eventually want to fix up the Sigils: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Venomstriker

* I would consider just going straight for Ascended trinkets since they're pretty easy to get

To get gold: do the Daily achievements if you can, do big meta events when you run into them, you can sell your first couple of Mystic Coins on the Trading Post if you need to.

For the time being, while you're trying to adjust your gear, run Hidden Killer in the Critical Strikes trait tree to get 100% crit chance on your Backstabs. (Later on you'll probably want Invigorating Precision because it turns your massive damage into constant free self-heals.) Use the Signet of Agility skill for its Precision-boosting passive effect as well (and learn to activate it when you need an extra dodge or you're about to be killed by conditions, as well).

If your goal is Pistol/Pistol in Open World, I recommend Deadeye over Daredevil. The reason is you get very nice initiative and cooldown management that allows you to constantly use your most powerful attacks. Staff Daredevil is an amazingly fun build, too, though.
