I think that is where the balancing problem mind set is right now and is the very def of why things are messed up as much as they are. Ive never seen that be the case in large scale fights. Don't worry. They do well on single/low target counts or when pugs are clouding and you can only hit 1 at a time.

  3. I'm 15 ap points from 10k, so please no change for a day or 2 :-) ...i dont trust them to change it in the direction we want

That being said Mirage needs its dodge back. Just another idiotic decision CMC was fed by the "Welcome to PvP" discord. He just does what they clique there says for the most part. Balancing for the wintraders at the top. This. I agree the revealed aspect should be removed. It's like taking the armor off a warrior for several thief builds, and some mesmers. Also it does nothing for perma stealth since they are roaming at that point and not fighting, so they just go around... but it limits where they and many other thieves can even fight.

We had a berserker that did more damage with one skill than any necro with his whole kit, while having much more defenses. > - Then ranger not being touched is a joke. Entangle needs a solid nerf as well as ranger longbow damage, and uptime of defensive boons without investing into boon duration > - support ele took a huge nerf while engi wasn't touched at all, which basically makes support ele unplayable > - engi bomb kit still does too much damage > > - then traits with 300seconds cooldown still didn't see a rework > - some signature spells like executioner scythe from reaper should get a bit of their damage back, even though they are cc skills. > - the emblems you get for kills and captures are still not sellable > > I agree with all of this. Also ele overall needs buffs.

Maybe they don't have the one bought from dragonfall and instead use the upgrade components for it...i forget what they are called but essentially sigils/runes/infusion for gathering tools
  7. I think power+prec is mathematically better in most situations than power+fer, but most ppl don't realize that. I'm unsure about that statement but it is definitely better for my dps staff weaver, unless i switch to full marauder causing me to have crit chance to be over 100% w/ fury. Also... Congrats! :-)
  8. > @"Absurd.2947" said: > Those two have different roles, you take core guards and revs for the coordinated spike and a weaver or two for the sustained pressure and cc. Completely different things. Over the course of a fight, a guard and rev would out dps an ele. If guards were good only for spike, that would not be the case. They will apply more damage over the length of a fight unless the ele perfectly places a meteor shower and the enemy for some reason stands in it, then it is still close. If all it had was 1 spike, then ele would quickly over-take it in dps over the course of a fight after the first 3 seconds, but in reality usually he is fighting to catch up the whole time. This also ignored the fact that guards have great team support and passive defense as well. OFC this assumes a well playing guardian. In other words, you can do 3 things to help win a battle: 1) do more damage over the length of the battle 2) shorten the length of the battle by front loading all your damage...aka spike, typically at the cost of long term damage. (High damage, quick acting skills with long cool downs) 3) support your teammates Guardians were able to do all 3, high spike and keep up the constant damage to stay on top of the chart, with team support. Weaver does the first, and can only exceed (barely) Guardians in that aspect with a perfectly placed meteor shower that isn't dodged. Other classes are in the same boat. Maybe a better method would have been to increase the recharge times more than decrease damage so they kept their spike. But guards also still have good team support, so i think this is where anet wants that class to be (and how it was initially introduced iirc). Also since it is such a defensive class and supportive, it shouldn't also be biggest dps at a distance.
  9. > @"Bhima.9518" said: > Weaver was only meta to groups that had yet to test core guardian spikes. This does indirectly make Weaver more viable, but its still an extremely squishy and selfish dmg build. RIP core guard, you were fun for 5 minutes being able to do good dmg while actually contributing some support to your squad. This, but to be fair, guardian was over-performing at range.

Passive procs are the ones that trigger on low hp, getting disabled or getting hit, like frost aura traits from water/tempest, which for some reason have higher cooldown than all the traits you mentioned. > > > > > > _Woven stride_? 5s CD for a trait that proc on taking a "soft" CC. > > > _Elemental bastion_ proc on a 75% health treshold which is probably enough to justify the 40s ICD. _Which is, what, 10s higher than the engi trait that proc on being hard CC? Granting you frost aura, health and every single "on applying aura" proc that you've traited (which can be a lot)._ > > > > > > I understand what you mean, but it's a narrow point of view. The comparison to engi doesn't matter that much since engi gets all the elixir benefits from the same specialization, some even on the minor traits, which is basically no sacrifice. Tempest needs to get various aura traits from other specs to get the best use of the ele bastion trait. And again, it's 1 trait vs 3+. You just proved my point, when you chain all those traits, it becomes obnoxious, which is exactly what's the problem with engi - 1 passive elixir means nothing, but when you chain 3 passive ones + traits from other specs, you get very strong passive sustain while focusing your skills mainly on offense. Similar to warrior pre nerf, one endure pain is a relatively solid defense, but when you chain it with other 3 passive defenses, damage conversion on heal etc, you get an unkillable tank which deals tons of damage (or at least it used to work that). > > > > I'm not saying that ele traits should always be on lower cooldowns or similar, but defensive traits and skills are usually pretty bad compared to other classes. Just compare armor of earth to stand your ground and dolyak stance and you'll see what Im talking about. Game mode doesn't even matter. > > I would say that you undervalue elementalist and overvalue other professions. If an ele really care to make himself resilient through traits he sure is going to be very resilient. The thing is that it's not something that elementalist's player tend to do, elementalist's players tend to favor sustain and damage over resilience. I'm sorry but I'm not seeing engi getting better things out of those "passive" procs trait than ele get out of it's own. You're really making a bigger deal out of those engi passive procs than they are really worth. The problem is that heralds and Guardians do more damage, at range, than ele unless there is a perfectly placed meteor shower that the enemy for some reason doesn't get out of. Ele both has low health and low armor while rev has more health and both are heavy armor.
  14. As someone said above when scouting, give necessary information when the enemy is attacking which includes: - Enemy Team Color - Approx number of enemies (don't count just give an estimate) - enemy guild tag if it is largely 1 guild (or 2) - Where they are. You can use names or compass directions ( nwc = Northwest Camp. SET=southeast tower) - If at a keep/garri/smc, are they on the outer, inner, or on lord. - if they have built seige yet. - it's also useful if you can say which wall/gate they are at. Example: "20 blue [sHLD] catapulting BBL Bay outer, South wall" Lots of ppl make useless callouts that confuse or annoy ppl by giving too little info to be able to act on.
  15. I agree. Look at other classes like engi or guardian. You have 5 utility skills, 4 profession mechanic skills, and 10 weapon skills (5 skills x2 weapons). That's 19 skills, tho 2 are auto attacks so let's say 17 skills. Eles have 5 utilities and 20 weapon skills, but 4 are auto-attacks so 21. So it's only an advantage of 4 skills. However each attunement has a specialty (except arguably air which is a mix of mediocre damage and cc). So if you are full dps, you won't use water and use half air and earth, so that's 10 weapon skills with 3 being auto attacks. If your are healer, you only have water which is 4+1 auto. So really you are at a deficit. If you broaden and be a jack-of-all-trades then you are subpar at everything. I use all 10 weapon skills and shroud skills in my reaper and core necro but less than half on my staff weaver.
