Why does Dragon's Tooth take so long to cast?

........mesmer can do upward of 10k on a mindwrack and thats instant in close range

and a thief can vault for 10k+ which is also AoE

Not sure why it has such a long cast time. It has been unusable for a very long time. For the cast time you would expect it to hit harder. Then you see other classes with instant cast skills that do more damage than it. Some elementalist scepter skills really needs to be looked into: Air is fine, Water is ok, Earth/Fire 2 needs to have their cd removed, reduced or the damage increased.

i like it but 1sec cast time is very bad. It hits so slow so you waste the second most of the time unless dropping on a downed where it might do something....

I woudl like the CT down to 1/2 or even 1/4. there will still be the huge animantion and slow drop. Shure it will buff it PvE wise where mobs are often sitting ducks ...

Yay us indeed! DT should have at least 2900 base damage considering how hard it is to land, but it's been 5 years like this and I don't think it will ever improve.

Dragon's Tooth is pretty useless, I think. Even in pve, almost the only time that it actually hits the mob is when you start the fight with it. After that, the mob is moving and will rarely be under the dragon's tooth when it lands, again.

It does have a burn component which is nice for condi or hybrid builds. I seem to land it often in WvW small team roaming. Usually I run dagger/focus though, so my feedback isn't worth much.

This has been a problem for years and never properly addressed. I'd take double the cooldown on it if it was instant or had a 1s delay.

Reduce cast / drop time and leave the damage as it is.

 

or

 

Leave the long cast / drop time and significantly increase the damage.

**The majority of Ele's skills should have their cast time reduced.** Ele is the master of Element, none of the spells should take more than 1/2s to cast.

In Fractals it's actually pretty good since most bosses don't move much, I'm currently running fa tempest with scepter/warhorn and warhorn #5 + dt & phoenix is pretty good for stacking some might + good dmg and getting your crit to swap back on air.

Other than that, I agree it's too slow.
