By "Account Name" I assume you mean their "Display Name" which is the publicly visible name here on the forums and in the game.

 

You should never ask for an actual Account Name, as that is the log-in name (e-mail address) and that is protected for security reasons.

Wow. I think literally everyone I've ever known since release has called their "Display Name"... "Account Name."

 

I've been calling it "Account Name" for years as well.
