Changing email address

Is there a way to change the associated email address, that functions as the account name?

Can you tell us what the solution was? I know it can be done but I have no idea how and I feel like it would be a good thing to know.

 

Also just in case anyone with the same problem searches the forum for answers. It really frustrates me when I'm searching for something (usually how to fix my PC) and I find a topic where someone's posted about the exact same issue but the only answer given is that they fixed it, not how.

I found out you have to open a ticket about it and that they will change it for us.

I was using an old spam email that has not been in use for years and really need my actual email for this.

Yeah I did this a couple of years back - opened a ticket and support was very helpful in changing my email.

They do as said with the ticket process and there's some authentication info you need to provide before they do.

 

Edit: I think the only thing they won't change is your account name. There may be circumstances they may make you change it if it violates policy.

I only know of 2 cases where someone's account name has been changed. One was the persons full real name (and a fairly unusual one as well, so they were easy to identify) and one was something inappropriate where Anet forced the change.

 

I think you have to have a very good reason for them to change it.

Would be fairly confusing if people started changing account names all the time.
