Ori-Ori -- I'll see if we can remove the ominous "leaving the site" message for GW2 *and* GW wikis. BTW, this was something we attempted to do, and it's bugged right now. We have a ticket in to Vanilla to get it fixed, and once it is corrected we'll be able to remove both red flags.

TexZero -- About "Night Mode: " From what I understand, we have so much customization and so many individually-created design elements on this forum that adding a night mode is not feasible. I do know that others also have requested such an option, but with regret, it will not be something that we can offer now or in the future.

About "Mark as Read" could you explain more thoroughly the functionality you're requesting?

Sure if you look at https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/categories you can see that each section has a cog that has the option to mark as read. This however only marks the currently active discussion per-section as read.

Prior to the forum switch we had this on a per-thread basis. I'd like to see that return so that even if im in https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/categories/guild-wars-2-discussion i can click on the cog for any thread Ex (https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/753/fashion-wars-runway-show-mix-n-match-armor#latest) and mark it as read without having to enter the thread.

In addition to this a button to mark everything as read at once. Right now you have to do this for every category separately.

I just checked my own profile and when i click on the comments summary, I saw exactly that. A summary of my comments but the problem is that on that summary pace, each of my past posts is summarized by the first two lines in that post. Thats a good idea in general because it would reveal the first two lines of thought of my post but I have a habit of always quoting posts that I reply to and in my comment summary, it only shows the first 2 lines of posts I replied to and not the first 2 lines of my reply, which might lead to an unintended first impression.

Can't we get rid of the majority of the sticky/announcement threads? When I open the GW2 discussion forum I first have to scroll down a page of stickies before I can can go the the active threads. I don't mind a single sticky with the forum rules but this just burdens navigation.

Oh, and as any forum veteran can tell you: Making a thread sticky is the best way to get a thread ignored.

**Expectation**: Forum admin: Let's make these threads sticky, so that everyone reads them.

**Reality**: Forum user: Scrolls down immediately to the active discussions just below the stickies.

For some odd reason, I can't edit my comments in discussions. What happens is, I click the gear icon, click edit, and it opens up the comment. Except when I click within, I can't seem to select the text within. I cleared my cache/cookies earlier today due to another site's technical difficulties... could that be it?

Also, these posts are older. One I tried to edit was from October 9th.

So, I couldn't edit the above post as well. Cleared cache. Disabled uOrigin, updated Chrome, no dice. Trying Firefox... nope. Firefox doesn't work either.

I just noted the [cause](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/229634/#Comment_229634 "cause") and [a temporary solution](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/comment/229645/#Comment_229645 "a temporary solution") to this issue in that thread.

They changed signature appearance and behavior and it overlays and blocks interacting with your post when trying to edit.

Temp Fix: Temporarily remove your signature for the time being to be able to edit posts normally until it is corrected.

Or you can disable viewing signatures via your forum profile. That hides other people's signatures, too, which might be a fringe benefit for some of us.

I liked the suggestion to reduce stickies quite a lot. Today I created a new thread called [important: Policies and Processes -- Links Inside](https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/13701 "Important: Policies and Processes -- Links Inside"). Not the snazziest of titles I've ever come up with, but I hope having "important" and "links inside" will catch forum members' eyes and they'll use the thread to find policy and how-to info on a variety of subjects. In the old forum, someone created a huge thread with about 30 links, and I know in my heart of hearts that those threads were never read -- the merging just wasn't effective. I hope this will be better, and look forward to your feedback on it!

The "carousel" at the top is very inconsistent for me @"Gaile Gray.6029" Sometimes when I come to the forums it will have 2 pages of dev posts, sometimes it will have 4, sometimes it will have 3. Refreshing the page sometimes changes the number of posts shown in the carousel, sometimes it doesn't. Is this intended behavior?

I agree -- the carousel is not functioning properly. I think I know what's causing it, but it's on Vanilla to fix it. It is on their backlog to address. In the meantime, expanding to four pages seems a nice short-term solution, in that before, with just 2, sometimes members saw nothing in the carousel at all. With 4 pages, we're doing a better job of showing off recent posts, but we have a way to go to get this right.

What about the single/double arrows for going back and forward through pages that I reminded you about?

I'd also like to express a grievance: the profanity filter is draconian.

In another thread I said that "NPCs are too dumb to walk out of small circles", only to find the word d.u.m.b. is changed to "kitten" when I posted the comment.
