Anyone else find it ironic that the actual worst build the game has ever seen was also a mesmer build?

I do hope history doesn't repeat itself on this front. Mesmer needs nerfs, but not to be nuked from orbit like Chronobunker was.

Pretty much same thing I decided. I've supported Guild Wars 2 through many imbalances but there is a limit to support man.

I think Arenanet is viewing this problem as the usual slight imbalance that we see patch to patch. You know, those unintended power creeps like during S1 where there was a bug with mantras, allowing their cool-downs to reset before even using the charges. <- These kind of things are accidents. But the state of Mesmer right now isn't even bugged bro. The design team actually looked over these patch notes, gave a thumbs up and said OK, despite the entire player base warning them directly what was going to happen. That's where I had to draw the line and take a break from GW2.

Completely off-topic: What is up with these people posting in Mesmer threads who seem to think that Mesmer builds have undergone bad nerfs in previous patches? Is lol every time I see this.

Mirages have evades that stunbreaks every 9s because of sigil of energy, have distortion/portal as panic buttons, and chaos variants have stability spams on top that. They are not really squishy when you take all of that into consideration.

> That's like saying play ranger or engi and afk face tank enemy's damage and see how squishy you are (because they have the same base health pool), which means thief/ele/guard are more miles more squishy. Mirage's access to op traits and builds are exactly what makes them not squishy. Mind you those 3 classes also all have significant tradeoffs depending on if they want to build tanky or glass for damage, whereas Mirages don't.

Ranger and Engineer have ways of dealing with defense, just like every class. Different classes deal with defense differently. I’ve sustained with my Soulbeast while dealing damage in the same situations as with my Mirage. Is Mirage strong? Yes. Did I say Mirage was the most squishy class? No. They burn through their evade cd’s and melt however, exspecially to Condi damage. Mirage is extremely strong, but they do melt if you get them. People thinking they are unkillable are ridiculous.
