Entire computer freezes frequently

The Windows memery test or any memery test app that runs in Window doesn’t work because Windows protect sections of memery to keep itself and other apps running! To correctly test your systems memery you need a bootable memery test app like Memtest that you have to creat a bootable cd or usb flash drive to correctly test ram. Also this app needs to make several test passes to detect issues, this can take hours so it best to let this app run over night!

Happens when windowed or full screen. Always at the final burn when Tequatl is at 5-10%

Updated to latest nvidia 419 drivers, deleted gw2 cache from %temp%, and re-ran the -repair switch on the client. None of that made any difference.

Does your MB have onboard graphics , if so remove your pcie graphics card, and run the game on the onboard graphics card.

Performance will be poor , but if the game is OK and doesnt crash , then the problem is most likley the driver for the pcie graphics card, or the card itself, although this is rare.

100% computer nub here, but I experienced a crashing issue on another game, not quite computer freezing levels of crash, but crashing nevertheless. I changed the version of windows it launched with (compatibility mode stuff) and it worked just fine afterwards with aforementioned other game. As far as how to do that, I googled it.

I tried it out on GW2, using Windows 7 as the setting. I use Windows 10. Seems to be working decently with minimal issues. Sometimes my sound lags a bit, but I'll take that over my computer freezing any day! Honestly, just might be attributed to me being a really new player and the download for all of the DLC still needs to happen.

My game settings:

Windowed Mode

Best appearance

40-55 FPS

My specs (some might be irrelevant, but again, 100% computer nub here):

MSI Laptop

Windows 10

Intel i7-8750H GPU

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

64 Bit

16 GB RAM

I'm not sure if that's the solution, considering I didn't get to devote too much time to playing after thinking about this, but if we just found the answer we needed, awesome! I hope this helped!
