Signet of Vampirism in shroud ?

So, Signet of Vampirism when traited allows the passive heal to be active while in shroud. But on the other hand we know shroud does not allow healing.

 

Does it actually work in shroud?

Robert Gee has stated that the trait isn't good enough to be grandmaster, so it's worth thinking about this in a potential build, since the trait will probably be moved down at least one tier and something better will be replacing it as grandmaster.
