Forum bans and communication : a flawed design ?

Recommended Posts

I feel like the forum ban design isn't great. When you receive a ban from the forums, you have no clue why until you log in, and you can't log in to your forum account until the ban ends.

Which means if you feel like the ban is unfair or you've been misunderstood, you can't contest until the sanction has already expired, because there is no way to know why you're banned, or to defend your case.

I think it would be great to at least receive an e-mail with the appropriate informations when such things happen.

that didn't address anything OP said. He said if you get BANNED from the forum as in a temporary suspension you cant figure out why, so therefore you cant contest it so you must wait the full duration of the ban/punishment to then contest it. Then the punishment has been given out already so contesting it after that would be pointless.

the thread you linked doesn't address what to do in that situation...

Their post is applicable as players can still email forum support and inquire as to why they were banned.
