Novamatrix.2569
Has anyone tested Runes of the Mirage yet? I have been using them all day and they just dont seem like they do anything useful. I looked at the wiki and there's really no info there on how much they heal. So far runes of evasion have been my go to for mirage builds.
Malice.8439
Do yourself a favour and try out Superior Runes of Evasion instead. It has made my Mirage life so much easier. I can basically dodge roll again.

Carighan.6758
How do they help? Don't they just do some extra effects when you dodge/cloak?

Yeah, those runes are hot garbage too. Not sure what they're on about.
bart.3687
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Evasion 3 secs of swiftness and fury on dodge every 10 secs and 2 secs of cripple on nearby foes on dodge on 10 secs cd as well. Not to mention it gives ferocity so it's useless unless you are running power builds. Rune of Evasion is certainly not a godsend, it's not even good imo. RBMoose.1439
Speaking of runes, I haven't tried this, but what about runes of the daredevil? Given the state of ambushes i doubt it matters, but i wonder if it guarantees a crit for ambush attacks, or if you have to finish the evasion before it'll give the crit. PANIC ITS WILL.2748
Since the superior runes of the mirage add toughness, maybe they were intended to be used in a build with CHAOS, ILLUSION and MIRAGE...There is after all that trait in Chaos that converts a portion of your toughness into condition damage? I haven't tried it out myself but just saying. :)
SprinkKnoT.4057
I've been trying the [superior Rune of the Sunless](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Sunless "Superior Rune of the Sunless") with Jaunt and so far it seems pretty decent to me. Probably not optimal, but I'm liking them in PvP.
OriOri.8724
I think perplexity and torment runes are still a solid choice, especially with the recent buffs to those conditions in PvE. Perplexity in particular only has a 15 sec recharge on its 6th tier bonus, which triggers when you use a heal skills.
Esplen.3940
I mean, if you really want to go off of dodging, Adventurer with Mantra of Recovery or Mirror is the way to go...

We don't really have one big hit attack we can build around. None of our ambush attacks really hit hard.

Arlette.9684
Rune of the Mirage = Garbage! I'd sooner check out rune of the weaver or the new zephyrite rune.

Miroe.2054
Rune of the Mirage wants you to build a condi tank with trailblazer>dire stats. Tanking has never been the strenght of mesmers but this elite specialization might pull it of. I can imagine this to work if you'd go all out on it, maybe also chosing the inspiration or chaos skill line. But even then you might want a different rune. I for example had a hard time chosing between Rune of the Adventurer (extra dodge roll) and Rune of the Traveler (extra movement speed). At the end I chose traveller runes because as a pure melee mesmer (sword/sword and axe/torch) I need the extra speed to chase my target and because I play celestial. Start with the question where the focus on your strategy lies and then decide on the rune that supports that best. If you already have a lot of dodge rolls to proc the rune and also rely on toughness and actually need some heal, then go for it.
