Trouble creating new account for Original Game - who knows how to do this?

Just bought Guild Wars Original. Trying to create a new GW Account. Entered my email address - same as my GW2 account - and a new password. Says the password I've provided is incorrect.

 

If my GW-Original and GW2 accounts are separate, how can the new password be incorrect? If by using the same email address I have to use the same password, how could I later link the accounts? Don't get it.

 

Not sure how to proceed here. I've submitted a ticket, but thought someone could offer some advice?

But.. did you even try to use gw2 password? In general both gw1 and gw2 share same password, at least when linked. I've created gw1 account years ago with same mail address as for gw2 and I didn't experience problems with linking later.

You can, and it may be the only way, use a different password (and email address) which will automatically be changed to your GW2 Account Name and password once the two accounts are linked.

Thanks for suggestions. I did not know how linking would work, so I did not want to just enter my existing account info and take a chance. But that's what worked. GW-Original and GW2 both show up in the same account, and everything works.
